A village abandoned during the urbanisation of the UAE and left to the elements, though recently the families of the original inhabitants have begun to renovate and restore the settlement as a tourist attraction. Talk of ghosts and djinn is presumably hogwash to keep tourists...More

This is an abandoned fishing village of more than 300 structures including schools, shops, homes and mosques. There are people that live on the outer fringes of it and the properties are still owned though not lived in. Many of the roofs are gone and...More

The old fishing village, abandoned in the late 70s if I recall, it's old houses and a fort that's being rebuilt so not open yet, hardly anyone around, won't take you long to visit it.

The town is constructed from coral. no information, no easy design to follow, just wander and marvel at the different house designs, some with water, baths at the end of some streets, just wonder what it would have been like to live in this heat...More

We drove in, we parked, we soon drove off. Sorry but as seasoned travellers we have visited historic sites and yes I guess ghost towns, old industrial towns, coal mines and deserted places. This place really is a case of we struck oil and left...More

This abandoned village built of Sea stone could be made so much more of,as this is the history of the pearl diving that Ras Al Kamimah was so well known for seems a real missed opportunity
