Absolutely loved this museum. Great and interesting displays and suitable for all ages from small children to teenagers. Very affordable also, like all the Sharjah museums. 2a 2c is only 30aed.
Lovely displays of all kinds of artefacts from pottery, jewellery and fossils.

Highly recommended 👍🏼

the archaeology museum was very interesting and organized well i thought. the exhibits were all new and beautifully displayed with objects or models.. it was spacious and easy to walk through. my only problem was that the interactives were not working at the time and some of the rooms were a little empty.

I decided to go to Museum of Archeology in Sharjah for their temporary exhibition of “The Echo of Caravans: Pre-Islamic Civilization Sites in Saudi Arabia” (until Jan 31, 2019). I enjoyed this exhibition a lot and since getting a tourist visa to KSA is very difficult, I did not want to miss it. Plus KSA is a big country, it requires commitment to visit these major sites on one trip. The museum also houses many precious and significant artifacts from the archeological sites in UAE. There are many things that I love, but specifically, the gold horse bridles. The reconstruction of the tomb of Al Buhais 18 is another favorite - especially how the jewelry of one of the women buried there was excavated as it was found settling on her crushed skull. Very interesting. For archeology enthusiasts, this museum is a must-see.

I loved the Museum. Especially the grave finds with groups of scelettons in perfect shape, with their jewellery still in place. But also the rich collection of objects starting from the stone age up to late pre-islamic times. I had been out to the Mleiha Archeological Center before, which made the visit of the museum even more meaningful, having seen some of the excavation sites where the objects were found.
I recommend visiting also the Mleiha Archelogical Center, which offer different activities to discover not only the archeological sites, but also experience the desert and outdoors activities of various types.

It is well planned and well done. It is my third visit to the musium and I truely like it. However, it is disappointing to see it is not very well maintaned as some of the video/audio shows are not working! Another thing, in the reservation section, it was quiet depressing to know that they stopped raising money to save animals in danger. Which I could participate in by buying a bag or a pen! Now the shop is only for private profit!!

Archeological museum of Sharjah is designed like the best museums in the world. You can find a good classification of historical periods from pre historic to our century. Overall history of Sharjah is very poor but it is shown with the best quality in this museum. . Have a good time and enjoy.

Unlike what is commonly assumed, the Arab civilization predates the advent of Islam and the many excavations in Sharjah and other parts of UAE bring this out. The Sharjah Archaeological Museum is an eye-opener, showing a number of unearthed treasures from the past, all well laid-out, explained and organized.

What I like about this museum was the focus on how people lived during those times, instead of just a random collection of pots, arms and implements, which one sees elsewhere. Another nice thing was the complementary audio guide provided to me at the reception, which helped shed new light on the excavations. The museum was slightly on the darker side, but this seemed to be on purpose to give people a feel of the olden times.

Of particular note is the section on Al-Buhais graveyard with an explanation of how the remains found told so much about how he people lived and dressed. A good place to visit for any one interested in archaeology and it costs only AED 10. I preferred it to the Science Museum next door. One can spend 1 hour or so here.

Next door to each other so went to both on the same morning. The archaeology museum was huge, surprising how old some of the artefacts were. Very well presented.
