Great place, great people and nice people. My wife and I visited the bodega in 2013. We loved beeing there. Have the opportunity to participete in the wine making and taste several types. Had loved to get some bottles sent to Norwsy 😋

We turned up on our bicycles with no advance notice and Bernardo was more than welcoming - an excellent host and the whole family were very friendly! You almost feel privileged to go and taste the wines as they make so few bottles a year. It was lovely to hear the family history from Bernardo as we made our way... More

Not only was the wine amazing - apparently they only make 5,000 bottles a year which is pretty cool - the scenery was beautiful! The owners were very friendly and happy to give you a tour. The wine "tasting" was very liberal. They just left the bottles on our table and encouraged refills! We ordered picada and the cheese, meats,... More

Bernardo, his family and this beautiful boutique bodega are not to be missed if you're in the area. As a day trip from Buenos Aires this was doable so I'm sure it would be as well from Montevideo! Their warm welcome and the detailed history of their family farm add depth to this experience. Truly a customized visit to a... More

We had such a great time at el legado. The whole family is super friendly and gave us a warm welcome, nice food and of course good wine! We spent the whole afternoon there and felt like at home. The place is also very beautiful! I can only recommend it!

This is a TINY winery but oozes with charm. It produces about 5000 bottles a year and each one is carefully prepared. The wine is excellent, and it is really great to see the care that was put into the winery by the owner. There is a turkey and a dog there that are a hoot too!

We had a really lovely time visiting this winery. It is a very small, family business and has only been going since 2007. The vineyards belonged to the family years before and they had to lease them to a bigger wine company after a financial crisis in the 1980s in Uruguay. It was great to see that they have now... My husband and I have visited numerous wineries around the world, but nowhere else have we found the personalized attention and warmth that we found at El Legado. Maria and Bernardo went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed ourselves... including regularly topping off our wine and snacks, showing us the wine process in action, and even let another... My husband and I had a pleasant time here, tasting the wine and chatting with the owners and another couple who were there. They provided generous tastings of their 3 wines and offered cheese and bread as well. This was a charming family run business. They make 3 wines, a Tannat, Syrah and a Tannat-Syrah blend. All were very good.... More
