Strikingly stark and simple in design, this 17th-century church is one of the oldest in Uruguay.

This church was very quiet, peaceful and not particularly ornate. It was simple and well worth the visit.

I've seen a lot of churches, and this one is one of my favorits. It is small, but really calm somehow and also the light is perfect. Great to stop by and spend a few minutes.

Located in the center of the town. The interior is very plain, so it only takes a few minutes to look around.

This is a very small church with very little artwork and you have seen it in 2 minutes. It is prominently located in town, so hard to miss.

This is great because there are many churches that are not open to the public but this one was. It was good to come and see while were were in Colonia

The current church is simple inside and quite dignified. We liked it. Not like most churches with lots of adornments. This one is elegantly simple and enjoyable to be inside.

The church has taken a battering in the course of its history but the interior has a simple dignity. When we visited the nave was filled with airial artworks which worked well against the white walls and ceiling. There are few painting or pieces of...More
