Might wanna have a guide and tell you about the whole history of Colonia. Nice church near the coast. Not as fancy as churches in chile or Argentina but still nice

Since the lighthouse sorta protrudes from the ruins, they can't be missed and they add on unusual look to the lighthouse.

Colonia del Sacramento was a most interesting place with excellent history in a very well maintained small town. The convent was a good example of many intersting buildings. It was safe, the people were friendly and very easy to get around.

This place was a hoot! If you visit the lighthouse, you won't miss these ruins nearby. They are fabulous fun, even on a rainy gloomy day. I recommend you set aside 5-10 seconds of your day just towards this attraction.
