This is the riverfront walk from ferry terminal to old town. Don't take a taxi. Not that far and you will miss the walk.

This waterfront promenade is a must when exploring Colonia’s old town, especially when the sun sets. When I was there, I could indulge in the fact that my fellow tourist brethren were few and far between—like, only two other people around. If you can go when it’s less crowded, I highly suggest it. Colonia is blessed to contain these river vistas!

This "rambla" is small compared to the one in Montevideo, but the view is beautiful and you can missed visiting this place if go to Colonia.

Beautifull to spot sunset, as the sun goes down to the horizon at the sea. You can enjoy the fiew from restaurants nearby, or by the sidewalk of the beach, whike children are still laughing playing inthe water.

Walking near the water was nice, especially the area that looks east. The historic barrio is part of the area. Here and there you will catch glimpses of the lighthouse and the church, the tallest structures in the little town. There are several bars and restaurants for a break. The sunset was very good.

The whole town was pretty much humdrum to us. It is nice but do not expect much. This area looks out on the river.

We walked along here from the port to the old town- there were people fishing, lots of green parrots to watch, and a generally relaxed atmosphere with a lovely view over the Ro de Plata to enjoy

Its major feature is the Colonia sign in huge letters, a major foto opp. Unless you are up for sunning and swimming, there is little to be had here.
