I typically don't bother to review anything with a thousand or more other reviews, as it becomes outdated/obsolete so quickly, BUT Registan is one of the world's most beautiful manmade sights and should not be missed by anyone who wants to see the best the world has to offer. It is clearly one of the very top buildings or complexes,... More

Three huge madrassas, ornately decorated, edge a square. They are impressive in size and beauty. Stopping by at night to see them lit up is a treat, highly recommended.

I am from Samarkand but didn't visit Registan Square for 5 years 😊. I visited the square with my guests from Greece and enjoyed night view there. It has so beatiful night led light effects. I would recommend everyone who visits Samarkand not to miss the chance of seeing the night Registan

It's astounding how little attention such places like Registan in Samarkand get! There is literally no advertising and to be honest it's one of the most beautiful places in the world. The very size of these buildings knocks you off your feet, not to speak about the ornaments and mosaics. They are very well preserved too!

Always happy to be back to this place, always clean and neat! The best time to travel is Spring and Falls.

Unless you're travelling on business, this would probably be the main focus of any visit to Samarkand. Absolutely exceptional, and every bit as dazzling as the guide books would have you believe. Allow yourself plenty of time, not only to meet the craftsmen working in their shops in the madrassa courtyards, but also simply just to stop and take stock... More

Heavily restored recently, yet the sort of place where you could put a huge blinking Coca Cola ad and it would still be impressive. It gives you an impression of the rich history of the country as well as a far-away-from-home thrill so dear to many tourists. We were lucky to see the sound and light show, so well done... More
