Two madrasah, a mosque, minarets and a square. Climb steps inside minaret for views - 20,000SUM per person. Also allows entry on second floor of madrasah. Numerous tourist gift shops. Site is lit-up each evening.

One of the most important landmark at the crossroads of Silk Road where all merchants and traders would have to travel through here, trade goods and pay taxes to the king of Samarkand.

This is a place I have wanted to see for years, it did not disappoint. Visit a couple of times, at sunrise and sunset, stay for the light show but check its on. Probably the best kept monument in all of central asia
