Red Beach is the site of the landing of the first combat troops in Vietnam. The Marines came ashore in 1965 prepared to defend the air base at Danang. Little did we know this was just a drop in the bucket of what was to...More

I believe this is the new name which was formerly the GI's beach during the Vietnam war. The beach itself was nice with good quality sand and no filth which a problem here. The waster was warm, but some nasty rip currents so be careful.

This is where the Marines landed in 1964. It has not changed much since then. It is still the best Swimming Beach in the area.

A bit of a boring beach. Not many facilities ... you can't order drinks there, etc... I will be a lot better if you can order food/drinks there. We stayed there for only like 10 mins then left.

The beach is nice with white and fine sand. Not many people here so that is great. Other beaches of Da nang are also very beautiful but full of tourists and locals.

The real name of the beach is Xuan Thieu. Local people have no ideas about the name Red Beach. Red Beach was the name given by the Americans during the war.

Dove past the beach on my way to another area. I could not believe the amount of development that is planned for this area. A place for the future

Water was nice, sand was hot and it is really close to food and drinks! If you're in the area, definitely check it out for a swim.

If you're looking for a more secluded beach still close to Danang, then Red Beach is for you. Located on the outskirts of the city, there are views west into the mountains, north to Danang Bay, and east to see the city skyline. The part...More

A very nice beach although we didn't swim here. We visited it as part of a day trip in an open topped Jeep. It was the first point at which the Americans landed in 1965. It wasn't an attack as such, more of a setup...More
