- steve ySiren, Wisconsin291 contributionsAMAZING water fallsOne of the seven wonder of the world!! Swam in the river above the falls, did the devils pool adventure, and the park walk on the Victoria Falls park! Helicopter ride around Victoria Falls. So, in October, the falls is in the low flow due to being their winter. Don't let this deter your visit. The falls are STILL beautiful! During their rainy period, the mist is so heavy, you can't see alot of the falls! Still a beautiful adventure in October!!Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten October 26, 2023
- Mrs_RamdariDurban, South Africa26 contributionsNot enough praise for Zambian side of Victoria fallsWell worth crossing the border, it's abt 1.4 km .. easy crossing we walked there . We walked over the bridge. An opportunity for beautiful pictures. Zambian border control so helpful and friendly . It's a two minute walk from the immigration point. It was a beautiful experience. The boiling point is a bit of a walk abt 30 mins for the unfit like me .. but rather well worth it . There is not enough praise for the falls on the Zambian side but it is spectacular. The knife point bridge at the park is such a thrill and not to be missed.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten December 10, 2023
- Johan FVästerås, Sweden82 contributionsTerrific views of the falls!Marvelous scenery, this despite that the falls are in its lowest flow right now. Increadible views, both from ZIM and ZAM sides. Unfortunately the park entrance fee on ZIM side now a hefty 50 USD/person (Simply greedy if you ask me), ZAM side 20 USD/person which ok.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten December 19, 2023
- Mrs PCanvey Island, United Kingdom28 contributionsMosi~oa Tunya / Victoria Falls ticked off the bucket listOne word “incredible” The most amazing sight you’ll ever see, the rising mist can be seen as you are landing in Livingstone and from the skies it is phenomenal. Don’t forget your poncho’s as you’ll definitely get very wet on your walk. We experienced a stunning rainbow on the day we visited. 100% recommend this once in a lifetime experience.Visited April 2023Travelled with familyWritten March 5, 2024
- TMBomMumbai, India1,006 contributionsMind-blowingly beautiful !!!Words cannot express the beauty of this place. Its like heaven on earth. You must try and see the falls from as many angles and sides as possible. Its gorgeous. The rainbows and double rainbows are sheer delight. You definitely get wet as you walk ahead. On the bridge its fantastic. If you are not ready to get wet, please carry your raincoat. You can get the raincoats on hire also at the entrance for USD 2. But you must walk till the highest point. Also try to go the other direction from where the status of Dr Livingstone is there. You can see the Zambezi river from where the falls starts.Visited May 2024Travelled with familyWritten June 16, 2024
- Susan EPhiladelphia, Pennsylvania1,140 contributionsSpectacular any time of yearOur previous visit to Victoria Falls was in July so it was great to be here during the higher water levels of February. Having a tour is nice but not necessary. A rain poncho this time of year is a very good idea. Keep your eye out for some sweet little birds and flowers blooming along the trail.Visited February 2024Travelled with friendsWritten September 8, 2024

We visited in September and rain gear was not available, but due to the dry season it was not needed.
The Falls are absolutely gorgeous and the park is well taken care of. There is a small refreshment stand near the top of the Boiling Pot trail. It is very steep to go to the Boiling Pot, but very worthwhile and beautiful.
You absolutely do not need a guide, but there are many people who will tell you you must have a guide and they hire out for the job.
The price is very reasonable (about $20 US), and we spent about 2.5 hours walking the trails and taking pictures.
Highly recommend

Absolutely outstanding falls.
We visited both the Zambia and Zimbabwe falls.
We were lucky with the weather, sun all the time we were there. This coupled with the mist from the falls meant multiple rainbows. Be prepared to get wet through unless you use waterproofs as it is very wet in places. Again we were lucky as we could see most of falls in full flow.
There is a bar for refreshments near to the entrance.
You can be guided or pick up an audio guide. Up to you and the pace you wish to go.
A never to be forgotten visit.

This was my second time at VF. Once before in Aug 2017. Water levels are said to be lower during this time, but it was still beautiful to visit and see this natural wonder. Be prepared for a bit of walking and getting wet in some places. Not soaked, but a little wet which will dry right up once you arrive at the end of the path. You can pay by credit card at entry as well.

We actually visited the Victoria Falls in 201
3 following the death of my father who had visited in 1952. This review dates do not go back that far therefore did what I could but we did visit in May 2013. It had always been an ambition for me to go ever since I saw a photo of my dad standing at the falls when I was a little girl. Given my dad had passed 8 months before it was an emotional but wonderful journey and definately one of the highlights of my life. I cannot recommend enough. We were on the Zambian side and stayed at The Zambezi Sun Hotel. Free entry to see the falls. We walked all around the falls unescorted and the highlight was crossing Knife Edge Bridge at the falls. The falls were in full flow , it was a beautiful day and there were rainbows everywhere. Even a huge circular rainbow that you felt you were standing in the middle of. I'd taken some momentos of my dad's and his story which id placed in waterproof covering and bags and my husband and I buried it on a hill facing the bridge which joins Zambia with Zimbabwe. To say the visit was awesome is an understatement. My husband and I have been fortunate in that before covid we visited lots of countries and have seen some fabulous sites but the walk and helicopter ride over the falls is still for us the best thing we have ever done. My son and daughter in law also agree and they are even further travelled than us. If you are ever fortunate enough to visit this beautiful wonder of the world please do not miss the chance. Words fail me to describe it well enough to do it justice. May was a perfect month and we sadly just missed the lunar moon which normally happens around the 22nd of May. An event my dad was fortunate enough to witness. Baboons were no trouble at all and the Zambian people were just lovely. Please anyone that is considering a visit then you have to go.

Visiting Victoria Falls was amazing and the cost of this was $30, no need for a guide, adding to your cost, just pay at its entrance $30 and make sure you take/have good waterproofs to wear because you will need them.
Adding another option to your viewing the Falls, if you are in Zimbabwe is to go across the border pass gate, explaining your viewing the bungy jump (this gate only ie your not entering Zambia) and you will be allowed to walk the bridge crossing the Falls with a pass ticket at no cost and do not loose this ticket as its for your exiting this location.
More pictures to take of The seventh natural wonder of the world.

We visited Victoria Falls from both Zambia and Zimbabwe. The Zambian side is smaller and you only see around 25% of the Falls however this side is more rustic and probably has less visitors.
The Zimbabwe side is more commercialized has better facilities with a restaurant that serves good coffee and food. From this side you see around 75% of the fools and you have a good view of The Old 19:05 that connext Zambia and Zimbabwe.
My wife and I were very pleased that we'd both sides we really would have missed out if we'd only seen one

Locals say the water levels differ depending on the time of year. I arrived when it had rained a bit so I got to see enough water and even that was breathtaking. I hear it is even more astonishing in March when the rains have peaked.

We had heard there was no water going over the Falls when we were going to be there. Not a bit of it my husband’s phone got soaked and has packed up.
Take a waterproof camera or a disposable one like I did. The noise was incredible the spray plentiful and the Rainbow Falls pretty spectacular.
Can understand Livingstone’s reaction to them.

My wife and I did not want to get on a helicopter and had been told that seeing the Falls only foot was not often worth it. Boy am I glad we didn't listen. In March the Falls are flowing at about their peak and we were staying in Zambia so walked on that side of the Falls. They were spectacular!! For us it was a do not miss experience.

April was peak season for heavily flowing falls and it was amazing! We entered from the Zambian side and absolutely loved it. I would highly recommend wearing a swim suit and some quick dry clothing if you have it so you can get the full experience. Definitely make sure you have a plastic bag to protect your phone from water. There were some locals hanging about who will follow you around to get photos and video for you. They are really friendly and you can throw them 400-500K for their services. If you don't want them to take photos for you just tell them. The views are out of this world and mist felt really good! It be hard to get good photos due to the mist, but if a photo fails you can usually take video to capture the scene. You will get soaked to the bone without a poncho which is why I suggested swimwear and sandals. The trails are all paved and well maintained so getting around is easy. The knife bridge is soooo cool! Definitely worth crossing.

I want to visit the Knife Edge Bridge in April 2020.
Can anyone suggest how long is good to spend at the Knife Edge Bridge? We will be on a tight schedule but I want to save enough time for it.
Written February 12, 2020
Half a day is enough. You pay an entry fee to enter the falls viewing area and various vantage points. Crossing knife edge bridge takes you to another viewing point.

We had ours built in to the tours we were doing from the lodge. So to be honest I cannot tell you. Just ensure you have your casa visa to allow you to go from Zambia to Zimbabwe
Written June 20, 2019
Does anyone know how easy it would be to do a day trip to Zambia from the Zimbabwean side of the falls? I'm going to be starting a Falls to Cape trip there in about 3 months and have a day spare. Would love to check out Zambia. Are there day visas? Can you walk it? Thanks.
Written June 10, 2019
You should first see the falls from the Zambian side as it gives you a different perspective from the Zimbabwean side. Then I suggest visiting the Livingstone historical museum which you can do as part of the two hour historical tour of Livingstone.
If you will have already already seen Livingstone then I would recommend a day trip to Chobe National Park in Botswana, where they have the largest population of wild elephants in the world.

We are doing a guided motorcycle tour in September with Sama Tours and have added on a 3 day trip to Zambia to see the falls. My question is should we get our visas now while in England or is it easier to get when we fly from Johannesburg into Zambia? Thanks Lynn

The online process looked complicated so we decided to get ours on arrival at Livingstone.
The process was quick, pleasant, and efficient, we probably waited in a queue for 10 minutes as others were processed. The arrival/waiting area is clean and welcoming.

88annettes said they had free passes for the Falls and could come & go. How does one get that access?

As hotel guest your room key is pass to Falls. There’s special exit gate to access opening to Falls .

We are staying at the Avani Hotel next month and were wondering what the waterflow is like over the falls on the Zambian side at the moment?
Written January 15, 2019
According to the local there was hardly any water going over the falls but when we went there it was absolutely spectacular!! Not as much but still stunning!! There will never be to little water flowing over. There is such a huge river to feed it, so it can never run dry.

Hello. Can anyone who have been to Zambia let me know if you have to take any vaccinations before going there?
Written June 23, 2018
Although I don’t know the “official” policy, we visited Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Kenya. We took hepatitis A and B (a series of 3 shots) and Tetanus. You don’t need a Yellow Fever shot for Zambia. We also took malaria pills.

I wan to know what the best option in October is for a flyover. I will be at the royal livingston
Written March 26, 2018
The Royal Livingstone hotel will be able to advise you on all activities and should also be able to book this for you. My advice is to book a helicopter flight over the Falls. The helicopter will turn in a way that all passengers get a good view for photos. It is well worth it even if the helicopter noise over the hotel from dawn till dusk is unpleasant, but that's par for the course being so close to the Falls. Another advantage of staying at this hotel is that you can walk (or use their golf-cart option) to get to the Falls at any time of day. Each time is different with lighting. Enjoy!

Hi am planning a solo adventure to Vic falls but requesting info on the following:
1. Getting there from Harare by bus
2. Most secure and affordable accommodation
3. Entrance rates to view the falls and whether I need a guide
Thank you so much :)
Written December 4, 2017
Good evening and how are you doing? Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, you can catch public transport from Harare to Victoria falls town but that would be long trip. The easiest way to travel would be to fly by Air Zimbabwe, Easy Jet or Fast Jet.
Your pickup from the bus station to the hotel will come at $20.00.
Accommodation for single occupancy bed a breakfast at Kingdom hotel which is ideally located is at $250.00 per night with a walking distance to the falls entry.
Falls entry is at $30 per person and if you want to be guided that would come with $20.00 that is including transport to and from the falls. The guide comes with the vehicle.
All this and a lot more we can arrange for you if you ask us to do so.
It would be great to hear from you.
Best Regards,
Patson Chifumbe

We want to make a trip from Johannesburg to Victoria Falls. Is it doable to book our own flights and then book tours at the falls or is it better to book a package including flights and hotel room including tours? Any advise would be helpful.
Thanks.
Lucy
Written October 2, 2016
Yes completely doable. You can book everything either yourself online or through agents at the hotels. We stayed Zambian side very near the falls which were in full flood and awesome. Did the helicopter ride which was expensive but worth it. If you do this try to go on the longer trip. I enjoyed the river trip the best but the livingstone steam train trip was excellent too. Have a great time!
