While nothing beats seeing lions live in the bush, I loved this!

Without question, I never expected to find myself actually walking alongside young lionesses as they hunt, explore, and goof around with each other in open terrain! But this... read more

First things first: it's expensive. 140$ for an hour, so it's most probably going to be your priciest walk in the park. Therefore, I would recommend this to someone who is in love with big cats, and would consider this as their dream. I was a bit lukewarm about the whole experience, and while I don't regret going, I wouldn't... More

Without question, I never expected to find myself actually walking alongside young lionesses as they hunt, explore, and goof around with each other in open terrain! But this program, which turns out to be a conservation program to restore the much-reduced lion population to Zimbabwe, is unique and highly recommended (for adults). Leki, our guide, obviously loves what he is... More

Great experience and very informative staff. In addition to learning about the lions and their behaviors, I also learned about the surrounding animals, their tracks, and their scat. Really educational! Prior to arriving, customer service was fantastic. Quick to respond and very friendly. Patience was great to work with! They offer a DVD at the end of the tour to... More

Be very careful about this attraction. Instead of walk with lions, as it is shown on all videos, we end up walking with cubs that were couple of months old and size of an average dog. Nothing you couldn't do in numerous wildlife orphanages all around Zimbabwe for less than $150 per person. Total ripoff.

Without hesitation, this was the best excursion that we went on in Victoria falls. We went during April, low season, and there was only 7 people total on the walk. We got plenty of time with the lions. The guides were excellent, and took multiple pictures and videos for us which were excellent quality. The lions eat every 3 days,... More

GENERAL: I just got back from the lion encounter. The guides were wonderful (and took a bunch of great photos with each of our cameras when it was our turn to walk with the lions) and I felt extremely safe the entire time. THE VIDEO: Another reviewer mentioned he/she couldn't play the DVD, but I have a solution. I put... More

We spent two weeks at Lion Encounter working with the lions every day. For me it was a dream come true. The lions were amazing. We walked them, fed them, prepared their food, cleaned their cages, etc. We also came to love all the local people who work at the camp especially the lion handlers. We spent one day at... More

Of all the things we did in Southern Africa, this will always stand out as one of the best and craziest things we have ever done! This is a once in a lifetime adventure. We were given instructions before going out to the reserve to see the lions and coached on how to approach and touch them. We were with... More

We went with the idea of walking with small lion cubs but the cats that we got to walk and pet were good size. The staff and the guides were amazing, especially Liki. This was an experience without any comparison and the group is doing a fantastic job with rescue and welfare of the lions.

This was a really amazing experience and I recommend it for animal lovers out there! It was really a "once in a lifetime" opportunity to get to actually pet and walk with some lions. I admire the work this group is doing to help re-populate the lions into the national parks. The handlers were very knowledgeable and in control. I... More
