What a wonderful shop

The clothes here are exquisite, staff helpful and some wonderful kits to buy. Wish I lived closer but a good reason to return to Takayama

We love this shop. It is full of traditional hand-sewn clothing decorated with traditional stitching/embroidery. The shop has been family operated by 5 generations. If you visit Takayama, I strongly suggest that you splurge on something here as a remembrance of your visit to this area of Japan.

I visited Hida Sashiko on several occasions and would definitely go again if i had the chance to visit Takayama once more. I'm not sure about the workshops origin, but seems genuinely rural and traditional Japanese. Reminds of the place where old merchants and craftsmen of the Edo period Takayama would have their business. Past is very much alive in... More

Simply beautiful store. Many delightful, well made, and exciting items. Many items come in a variety of sizes and are very affordable. I loved so many things, but had to settle on a few. The staff is very polite and can answer questions in English. I highly recommend visiting the shop, you will love it!
