takayama is a gorgeous mountain village at the foothills of mt fuji. authentic and historic, it is like walking back in time. this museum offers a fantastic and diverse display of inro and netsuke. well worth the side trip to visit both takayama and the museum, and make sure to stay a few days at a traditional ryokan.
