Nice place . Went inside the store and found out there is a museum inside . Not big - it will not take more that 30 min of anyone's time but a lot of interesting things to see that would take you back in time...More

Accidentally came across the museum whilst working the streets of the old town in Takayama. So many wonderful artifacts cicra 1950. It is a treasure trove of collectable items and some items would be worth a mint today. Highly recommended place to visit in Takayama...More

This place and exhibit was a breeze of fresh air after touring Takayama's streets, market and shops. Great artifacts (old toys, machines, scooters, gadgets and devices, posters etc.) that all of our family members (all ages) loved! The entrance is hidden at the back of...More

We spent almost an hour in this gem. The entrance to the museum is hidden at the back of a toy shop. A variety of artifacts from the last century displayed as different living spaces. Nostalgic whether you grew up in Japan or anywhere in...More

This museum was a total surprise. It's small but packed with so much content. I strongly recommend this place. At 500Yen (around 5$), it's cheap fun!

I loved looking at the old electronics and my friend loved the midget car (you can sit inside). The old school educational tools were neat and the abacus/calculator was cool. A great look into a period of large changes in this country.

After all that deep history in Japan, an exhibition crowded with the material culture of the 1950s and 1960s was at least different. And fun, as well as fascinating. Perhaps not to every international visitor's taste but it did it for me.

In the back of a candy shop is an eclectic display of japanese memorabilia from the 50's, 60's ,70's. From old cameras ,bikes. electronics, hairdressers and doctors surgery , lot's of quirky stuff. Good for a rainy day.

This place is an amazing collection of junk (other man's treasure?) The stuff is arranged in a series of rooms and then in whatever space is left over. Looks like the worlds biggest garage sale. Takayama has so many other things to see that are...More
