This is a very small museum that can be reached by taking the stairs behind the Ishikawa Prefectural Art Museum. The building is beautiful, so very fitting to this very observant writer, whose statements are so apt to the frenetic world we live in. The centre piece of the House must be the water display and relaxation room at the... More

This small museum has beautiful meditation spaces and information about Suzuki and Zen Buddhism. A true find in a fiendishly busy country.

The Suzuki Daisetsu Museum is one of the most beautiful places in Kanazawa. I don't write this lightly, as Kanazawa has many spectacularly beautiful places (Kenrokuen, Nagamachi, Nomura House, Kanazawa Castle, Kazuemachi, Higashi Chayagai are a few). If you are keen on Zen Buddhism you will certainly enjoy the small exhibit. If you just like a peaceful, lovely setting, then... More

If you are a fan of Zen, can architecture and quiet spaces, you will enjoy. It's a different kind of place. Very little to do.. only to "experience" Zen solitude and simplicity of design.

A quiet and calm place for reflection and clearing the mind of clutter. The design of the museum is very contemporary, spacious and minimal.

Surprisingly little info (particularly in English) about DT Suzuki's thought and contributions to Zen scholarship. Left me wondering how and why this stunning monument was dedicated to the man. There is a picturesque shortcut up the path to the rear of the museum leading you to the gardens and other museums.

Once you step into the museum, you can't help but to feel the peace and calmness of the surrounding. The pool and the garden behind the museum is beautiful. Wished there were more explanation in English though.

We caught a bus from outside the Omi-cho market to a stop not far from this museum. The museum was built in 2011 and is a modern, spare building set in an attractive, wooded environment of colourful, leafy trees and strategically placed ponds. We visited in November and the colour was brilliant. As it was a Bank Holiday and we... More

Beautiful architecture. The Zen atmosphere of the museum is very relaxing. Great location - very close to the Kenrokuen Gardens and Kanazawa Castle.
