Located in Atami , Shizuoka prefecture. The castle can be accessed from the JR Atami station by bus or by using the Atami ropeway. The castle stands on the edges of the coast line offering wonderful views of the bay area, Atami city and Hatsushima...More

Once you've reached the top of the moint they start charging extra for everything. The castle itself is barely worth the fee and is one of the smaller castles in Japan.

The castle is a poor reconstruction of what was perceived to be originally there. The original stone walls and moats which protect the area are fantastic and are in themselves the only original feature and are mind boggling in their own right.

I visited the castle just because I stopped in Atami and was strolling around. If you want to get there from the train station, you can first walk to the beach (I think it took between 20 and 30 minutes), continue walking on the seaside...More
