I was literally flabbergasted when I entered the flower section. Also had the chance to have direct contact with owls, toucans and other birds. Definetly worth the visit,

This place has a great variety of flowers and plants, and the park is a good place to go with family. I just feel sorry about the birds locked in the cage... but this is the big attraction of the place.

We stopped here on the way back to Matsue by train from Izuma Taisha shrine. With a foreign passport you can get a ticket discount. We paid 1,080 yen for adult and 1,020 yen for senior. Vogel is German for bird so that is the attraction here - rare birds with wonderful flowers and trees thrown in. We arrived late... More

Part indoor flower park that blooms all year round, part bird park. Foreigners get ~30% discount on ticket price, just show your passport. Admission becomes 1,080JPY, instead of 1,540JPY. Park is located right outside Matsue Vogel Park Station, about 15-min ride on Ichibata Railways from Matsue Shinjiko-onsen Station. After buying the ticket and entering the main area, you can see... I visited this park in June. When I walked into the garden area I was in awe of the beautiful flowers! Then, we went to see the birds and other animals. My excitement quickly plummeted. I was so upset to see birds is tiny enclosures, much too small for their needs. I saw a beautiful hawks and falcons tied to... More

Ive been here a couple of times since this park is only one and a half hour away from my sisters house. The park is full of plants and flowers. Its a huge park so its better to wear comfortable shoes. They also have penguins and other bird species( you can feed the birds but you have to buy food).... More

Although it might be a bit farther away from all the other main attractions of Matsue city, I definitely recommend this attraction. When you first enter, there are many species of owl on display. When you enter the attraction, you will be greeted by their amazing greenhouse. Various flowers, both on the ground and hanging, are arranged in beautiful ways.... More

I was expecting to go for flowers, but the birds certainly were the main attraction. I've been to plenty of zoos, but this was the widest variety of birds I had ever seen in one place, many of which I had never seen before. They all seemed very well taken care of and content. If you're going fast you can... More

See flowers from all over the world, the owl show, see the birds up close and feed them. I only wished we had more time.

I've never had a chance to see so many different birds in my life! And you're not always viewing them from afar. Here, you can walk amongst the wildlife, in a very memorable park. I visited while working in Shimane, taken along with a group of 200 teenagers, and they were just as excited as me. Be prepared to walk,... More
