Rurikoji Temple

Beautiful place, I want to visit this place again but in different seasons. Not too far from Yamaguchi Station. It takes about 40 minutes for walking.

I thought it was very pretty and I was surprised to learn that it had been moved from somewhere else to its present location.

Had a nice day trip out to Yamaguchi, this was by far my favourite place in Japan, so peaceful and tranquil and well kept. There is a koi pond under the pagoda, the koi are huge!

An absolutely beautiful way to waste a few hours, amazing 500yr old shrine. Try the traditional Japanese noodle restaurant just down the road too.

We arrived at Shin-Yamaguchi at 15:25 and saw the sign for the bus to the Pagoda. Waited for 20 minutes only to find out the bus wasn't due until 16:15! We weren't waiting for more time so we got a taxi to Pagoda (¥1030 for 8 min journey, expensive!) We got ice cream/sorbet from the shop on the corner opposite... More

Went on an adventure and jumped on a train to yamaguchi! When we got off the train we saw a little yellow bus! We jumped on it! We ended up here and what a beautiful place it was! Not much around but it has a few Japanese restaurants and an ice cream shop and so on. Worth a visit as... More

Best color image with mountain green and beautiful wooden Pagoda is the best in Japan, compared with other Pagoda towers in Japan (Nara and Kyoto etc.)

English history available. We even saw a bride and groom getting pictures taken. Short walk around the grounds. There is a koi pond right under the pagoda. Makes for a beautiful scenic photo session.
