My wife and I were pleasantly surprised with this area. It felt like an old town with great restaurants and shops. There are impressive temples on this main road as well. Worth a visit.

The shopping district is quant. Many food options. Walk all the way up the hill and then find the shaved noodle restaurant. Very large serving and good price. Just know that the sidewalks are on the one lane road, but not much traffic while we...More

Only about 25 minutes train ride on Keisei line from Narita airport. Small town atmosphere with lots of small shops selling Japanese products. Several small shops eating places. On the way to 1,000 year temple. Takes about 4 hours to visit this area.

This is a street with many authentic and modern small stores and restaurants. Please, note, that all stores work only 10:00 - 18:00 (may be about half-hour plus-minus). After 18:00 you can find only opened cafes and restaurants.

Reminds me very much of Asakusa. There are just so many unagi restaurants. Didn't know which to choose. Suggest to come early if you don't want to wait.

If you are visiting Narita temple, I highly recommend to walk the Main Street that leads to Narita train station. There are many old buildings that has been there for over 100 years, and they are still being used today. Lots of Japanese traditional souvenir...More

Hi, my sister and I are planning to go to South Korea and might take the flight which has a 12 hours layover in Narita airport, so we plan to visit this town. Do we need a Japan rail pass to use the trains to reach this town or can we just buy tickets at the train station? We're planning to get transit visas only. And is using cab service from the airport to this town and vice versa advisable?

yes, you can just take the train as it is very close to the rail station. Japan is one of the safest country on earth. People are so polite and courteous. It cost about 5000 yen to take a cab from Narita airport to Omote-san.

If you get the free hotel bus to the Narita Staition (13 mins) Omote Sando St is just near the station about 1 minute walk!
