Paid for our Hakone free pass, doesn't save you a lot but it's convenient due to long queues for each sector. Be prepared to stand in the Horzan train and cable car as well as the queues, limited seating in them.

We took a day trip to Hakone and didn't quite know how to get around. The information was well signed and easy to locate. The staff had great English and were very informative. We got a pass and a map and took off to explore.

Get the three day pass, you can't do everything in two days. Well worth the price and the views are amazing.
