Okay it is a bit corny but still a fantastic way to travel across Lake Ashi. Go up on the top deck for the best views and exhilarating breezes. If it's cold and rainy then you are better off staying inside - although the views aren't as spectacular.

ENJOY the sights and sounds of Hakone Bay while cruising in a pirate ship. FUN and enjoyable and picture-perfect for those who want to take great selfies or groupies.

We booked this cruise over lake Ashi in a pirate ship over Viator. I'm glad we did this. The view was amazing. Unable to see mount fuji though as the sky was not clear. I really enjoy the cruise and the view.

Fun scenic ride. It is about 1/2 hour across, so not enough time to get bored if you are restless. Clean and well maintained ships. Staff very courteous and helpful.

Realky enjoyed the boat trip. Its not that long and you can get on and off at the three stops, one of which has cable car. We went for the first class cabin which is at the front, v luxe and gives access to the very front and top of the boat so no other tourists get in the way... More

The pirate ship ride was ok, just like a normal ferry ride. We did not have the chance to see Mount Fuji but I can imagine the beautiful view one would have on a clear day. Lots of people on the boat and it is spilt into ordinary and first class but I wonder why they bother doing that as... More

The replica pirate ship is fairly large with both enclosed and open decks. There is an area at front of ship for First Class customers who can pay a supplement to the normal fare. Travelled on many different lake ships/boats in both USA and Europe but never seen one like this before. Even if you don't travel on it well... More

Pleasant cruise on the lake for 30 mins. Not a lot to see, which was a shame. Pretty crowded with tourists

The only reason to go on the pirate ship is to get to land the Village across the lake after you disembark from the wrong way It's a nice voyage but very hokey and contrived
