Not sure what we had instore but hoped to see Mt Fuji & despite it being overcast we got a glimpse of a snow capped Mt Fuji - a glimpse is better than nothing. The trip over the volcanic section was very interesting & I...More

After a serene yet memorable crossing of Lake Ashi, a trip on the Hakone cable car Ropeway and a stop at Owakudani station is truly worth the trip. Witness how the Japanese harness geothermal energy and sample eating black eggs boiled in hydrosulfuric water. A...More

We loved riding the ropeway. Beautiful views along the way. Was quiet windy on the day we visited so a little Rocky. Got off at both stations to have a look around.

If it's a clear day you will get some good views of Fuji as well as a ride through the hills, we used the various transport systems as a route to Gora and the buses to the museums, beware the time though as all stops...More

Efficient and only very short queue to board but that might be because there was 39 in our tour group. Great views over mountains. Worth a trip.

Free with you Hakone Free Pass. Efficient transport to take you over the volcanic mountains and down to the lake. Seeing all the autumn colours of the trees and the sulphate coming out the ground it was like you somewhere else. I would recommend stopping...More

But it is nothing special, and definitely not worth traveling far for. We had the hakone free-pass where it was included, and it was a nice change of pace to get around. The view was nice

Do not miss a ride with the rope way that leaves about every minute and gives you a superb view of the mountains, including Mount Fuji in clear weather.

It’s certainly possible, though you will need to rush through some parts and it might not be as fun. I think most people would suggest about 8 hours for the round trip.

This rioting is OK and you can buy a day ticket for both the rope way and cruise. It's cheaper than buying separately. Parking is available at Sounzan Station but I don't think it's free. However, parking won't be expensive.
