Kawagoe City Tourist Center was built by renovating the building of the former Kagamiyama Sake Brewery, which was founded in 1875.
It's a place where you can enjoy souvenirs and sake tasting.
The building retains the atmosphere of the time and is very charming.
It's a registered tangible cultural property, and there are many types of sake available, so it's a must-see for sake lovers.
It's great to be able to try a variety of local sakes from Saitama.
I think it's best to stop by on your way home.

The souvenirs are a bit more pricier than the departmental stores but worth to buy one and try. The black crispy mochi with red wrapper is tasty. It was gone when i walked past it a two hours later.

Stop here on your way back to the Kawagoe station for gifts. Also has a nice coffee shop to relax or meet up with friends.

This is made up of the souvenir shop (Meiji Storehouse), the staff restaurant (Taisho Storehouse), and the cooking restaurant (Showa Storehouse), and in the passage between the souvenir shop (Meiji Storehouse) and the staff restaurant (Taisho Storehouse) you can find the "88 Anime Holy Sites in Japan You Should Visit (2024 Edition)" and the "Saitama Anime Holy Site Guide (2024 Edition)". Among the "88 Anime Holy Sites in Japan You Should Visit", Kawagoe City has been certified as the home of "Kamisama Kiss" and "Tsuki ga Kirei", so it may be useful for those who are touring the anime holy sites.
