This temple was full of tourists although we arrived after 3PM. Impressively big. A must to visit at Nara. A park with a lot of polite deer. They will bow at you asking for the deer wafer. You can buy a pack of deer wafer for 150¥. I recommend to catch a bus with flat fare 210¥ one way from... More

What can you ask for more, when the largest wooden structured temple with magnificent landscape, transcending spiritual feel, and a flock of tame deer to greet you on your way there? Enjoy it.

I am quite impressed with the size and age of this temple. Most of the structures are still original that can be dated almost one thousand years ago. And they are preserved well. The Buddha statues inside were preserved well too. Even though it has a strong Chinese influences in the architecture and style but you don't see many ancient... More

The bigger, more impressive for the humans, usually. The scale of the temple is making the first and the second impression. But it is not just the scale in and out. Find out for yourself.

This is a must visit in Nara, the temple is ancient and very huge, it makes me wonder how they build the temple back in so many years ago. Is worth the time to walk around the temple.

Nice place with a calming presence. The deers roam around lazily while the tourists gawk at at the surroundings. Nice!

Todaiji Temple is a famous temple landmark in Nara, Japan. The main Big Buddha Hall (Daibutsuden) is the world's largest wooden building and houses one of Japan's largest Buddha bronze statue. Visitors can expect to see friendly deers, from the adjacent Nara Deer Park, roaming around the temple grounds... Admission Fee is 500 yen (museum only) and 800 yen full... More

An amazing temple that really takes you back when you first see how huge it is. The giant Buddha is a fantastic centre piece inside with other great statues within the temple. Worth navigating past all the deer and making your way inside.
