Daibutsuden is the largest wooden building in Japan, which houses the largest bronze Buddha statue in Japan. Even with crazy crowds of people all day long, this is still definitely worth a visit when in Nara. Go all the way around to see Buddha and...More

This is a must see if you are exploring Nara Park. There are huge statues in a large temple. The entrance fee wasn't so high.

This was an amazing sight which includes the bronze Great Buddha and his Guardians, which are tremendous wooden statues, all housed in an immense wood building. Truly a sight to behold.

Impressive, huge, a must-see. Entry fee is now much and definitely worth it. Awe-inspiring and worth seeing even if you're not religious.

One of the most impressive temples in Japan especially as Nara and Kyoto are filled with them. Avoid the place during holidays and long weekends The surrounding parks and deer make this a perfect way to spend the day on a day trip from Osaka.

What bus (and number) should I take from JR Nara Station to Todaiji? Is it difficult to do if I can't speak Japanese? How much is the bus fare? Can I pay using ICOCA? Is it really worth the extra fees to enter the Hokke-do (Sangatsu-do) and Kaiden-in Halls?
