First, I have to state that if you're not really an animal person or don't like deer then this is NOT the place for you. If, like most people, you think deer are the cutest animals ever, then this IS the place for you! They...More

We really didn't know what to expect when we went to the park. We knew there would be deer, but we didn't actually expect so many, or that we could feed them, or that they would be so easy to approach. Be careful though: once...More

A very nice and big park that is very well maintained (like all parks in Japan). Wild deer are running around freely, which is really cool. They are totally used to big crowds and you can easily pet them. The park features many nice temples...More

Though it was raining when I visited, it didn't stop me to appreciate the entire park especially seeing the deers roaming freely and tourists can feed them!

Not only is this place filled with some of the most amazing temples you can see in Japan, but it basically has everything you could ask for when going on a day trip. Keep in mind that it was absolutely beautiful outside and 27 degrees,...More

The Deer were timid, only coming to you for the food and running away as people walk to them. Pay extra attention to children as they might be bumped by deers. Must see in Nara!!Deer freely moving around, we had paused for some photos

I loved wandering around Nara park, the scenery was great and I just loved watching the deer roam around. :) Careful, if you have food and you don't feed them fast enough they get impatient and bite... but they are sweet :)

Large park full of deers. Plenty of open space to sit and relax, feed deer or people watch. Biscuits can be bought to feed the deer.

Lovely open space with many wonderful deer roaming about. Good thing that there is no admission fees. Nice sakura trees around the park. A must visit place!
