Beautiful place

It is a perfect place to visit while in Nara. It is perfect to enjoy as a tourist because is very popular with the locals, so you don't feel like it is "one more temple".

Had an opportunity to visit the Yakushiji Temple on behalf of the Kakehashi Project sponsored by (JICE). This was an awesome temple to visit to experience and learn about Japanese history, region, and culture. The tour was amazing. Great place to visit in Nara.

Don't be in rush. Enjoy and learn the details of this wonder. You'll thank me later. If you get a chance to enter the museum, do so. The tickets are cheap and the views are priceless. Don't leave Japan before you the entire Yakushiji Temple. And then tour it one more time

A visit to Nara should be on everyone's list. Yakushiji Temple was a great place to see. If you find your self in Japan, you should check it out

The Yakushiji Temple was the first temple I have ever visited or seen in my life. The history of this temple is distinguished. One of my favorite parts of the visit was the wall size paintings during the end of the tour. This is a must see temple anytime one travels to the Nara Prefecture. I highly recommend the Yakushiji... You enter the area through a nice park and its a different type of temple. The location ist very attractive for locals and its not so crowded.

Most tourists go to the Nara park. If you decide to see more, take a bike, go through the ruines of the imperial palace of Nara and visit this temple in the west. Really worth it and not crowded at all.

Very unique temple. Unfortunate you're not allowed to take pictures inside. Very popular with the locals.

A nice temple with pagodas Not the most beautiful one from Nara but worth visiting. Take bus 92 and you will get there in 25 minutes

Even though one of pagoda among the twin pagodas is under construction when I visit Yakushiji, this temple still was so beautiful. You can see the decoration reappeared from the Hakuho period via the pedestal. The Budda and Bosatsu statues are also great, which are national treasures!
