Great free city park and the views of the Volcano and city views are amazing. Got to see the Volcano erupting too which was a bonus. Beautiful gardens and not expensive to get to and from in a quick taxi from the downtown area.
When we were there, everywhere were Chinese people. They were a big group of tour. I hate them speaking loudly everywhere and won't consider the other people at all. I didn't even have the mood to take any photos from the observatory.

Located on a hill created by an eruption in 1946, this center offers a trail to explore the lava fields and an excellent vantage point to observe the power of the Mount Sakurjima volcano. There is no charge for this attraction.
This is an observatory to look down Kagoshima City and Sakurajima. Since this is on top of a little mountain and there are many good viewpoints of Sakurajima, you may skip this when you don't have much time to spend.

This place offers great view of Kagoshima and Sakurajima. It took us approximately 20mins to walk up from Central Park
and part of the track is under construction. Recommend to catch the view during evening where the setting sun cast its ray onto Sakurajima.
