Our guest house is quite near the tower, hence after dinner just take a stroll down the road to visit. The entrance fee is JPY200/pax, no time limit at the observation floor. This is 2nd shortest tower in Japan, there are cafe up there, but was closed during my visit. Very small observation area, can be viewed in 20 min... More

The entrance fee was 200 yen each adult. However, those who have a JCB credit card could access the tower for free. There were 17 floors in total. The observation deck was obviously very old (build in the 1950s) because some glass windows were slightly broken. The view was great. If you want to take some photos, do not come... More

For ¥200 (adult) to go up this is worth it but I would not go out of your way to seek this out. The tower is showing its age - which means it has a certain nostalgic charm - but it also means that many of the glass windows are cracked and the facilities are basic. The views are fine... More

As we are waiting for our next train with a little time to spare. We walk down the street to look for the tower. After turning left from the Main Street and saw the tower. Decided to take a picture and U-turn back to look for our lunch.

This is an okay attraction - not very high and nothing to do at the top just a viewing area. Nice place to sit and read/ have coffee though. Probably better to go during the day rather than in the evening

We admired the tower only from across the road. It's a really nice landmark of beppu. Especially at night with the colorful lights turned on, it's a tower with character!!

Intresting for an overview making some picture of Beppu at night. Half an hour is more than enough to visit the place.

Beppu Tower was probably once a marvel, but now it is used as an advertising billboard for the brewery Asahi. There are eight neon Asahi signs on the Tower; four in Japanese and four in English. The Tower stands at a Herculean 100 meters tall. I pay my ¥200 and ride the silent lift to the seventeenth floor. It is... More

In the 50's building towers was something every other city did. Beppu is no exception. Rather nice to go up and take a look at the photos dating from the late 50's when it opened. Great view of the town from the town. Unfortunately, while we were there 3 young women had their children running wild. Rather loud and just... More
