However, small place. At bottom level a wet market, they will ask you to pick the items, then they will take you upstairs to a chinese restaurant and you pay extra 500 yen to get your 4500yen items cook. This amount is for 1 pax...More

This is the market where locals pick up fresh produce. Interesting to browse through the stalls ranging from seafood, fresh meat, snacks and sweets to clothes and toiletries. It is a place to acquire some useful knowledge on what the locals eat and use every...More

Went there for Brunch since we read there were food stalls. Settled for this shop selling super fresh seafood. It was amazingly delicious. Most of the customers were there for a shot of oyster and beer, but we sat there for a full meal. They...More

Makishi Market is quite big. The fish market is in the centre of 2 stories, you pick.fish and it is prepared upstairs. I speak mandarin. The price offered for a lobster was even more expensive than what I can get in Singapore. Plus you bring...More

Very touristy and not worth it. Go explore somewhere else for better value and quality seafood. Good for chinese tourist though, as I see plenty of them eating on site. Noisy.

Can you imagine visiting Paris and not seeing the Effiel Tower? yes, that's like visiting Naha city and not stepping into Makishi Public Market. Vibrant, exciting and certainly a fabulous shopping and dining venue in Naha city. What do I suggest to do at Makishi?...More

Interesting experience in Naha. Kids enjoyed the sights and smells (actually a surprising lack of one in the wet market 😂) In all a great way to spend an afternoon out in Naha town.

They serve their sushi super fresh! Love the local feel you get when visiting here! They also sell souvenirs and food to bring home for presents.

Loads and numerous stalls selling live seafood so sashimi are as fresh as one can get. Just take note opening hours are 0900 onwards and stalls gradually opening, not 0800 as quoted by many sites or on Google. So do not go too early!

There is grocery store outside the market, just short walk away from the fishmongers. They will direct you to the place. No worries.

In my opinion, the Makishi public market cannot be compared to the fish markets in Tokyo, Seoul, Taipei, or the other big cities of Asia. It is comparatively small, but located in a popular area. It will move to a new... More
