The Medeu mountain peaks have snow round the year. So you can feel the cold in summer on the peaks. The cable car takes you right up there. You can relax, meditate and eat when hungry.

One of the biggest ice rinks in the world didn't imagine me. Pluses: picteresque mountain views, close distance to Almaty. Minuses: restaurants without Wi-Fi, no souvenirs, crowdly, hot.

Nicknamed the Switzerland of Kazahkstan, this place was amazing. A welcome change in temperature compared to the warm city below. The tramway afforded spectacular views. I would go back again!
