I was astounded to learn that the history of Byblos goes back some 7.000 years when it was first settled and remained so untill this day. It claims to be one of the oldest constantly inhabitedcities in the world. The castle itself is worth a visit. Make sure to get either a guided tour or take informations from the tourist... More

There's a lot to see at this site and it's well signposted, although when we went it was a bit overgrown and hard to make things out. We got to Jbail (Byblos) by taking white Coaster bus #6 from Cola for 2000LBP pp which dropped us off at the top of the excavated Roman Road. Going back, we took a... More

We paid $20 for a guide that was worth it (although her English wasn't great). Loved seeing the Royal Navy cannon balls in the masonry from 200 years ago & very interesting that the Crusaders used the Ram Pillars as part of their stone work. Definitely worth a visit

One can just imagine the ancient days......the walls, the turrets and just the vastness of the castle is so imposing. Well worth a visit.

It seems the ticket booth runs out of tickets fairly regularly....which means they open the site for free to everyone. It's important to get a guide because the Crusader Castle is the least interesting portion of the site. The site now known as Byblos has had a half dozen names over the millenea and has a valid claim as one... More

8000L entrance for adults, this is a beautiful and huge castle. Views are stunning and a visit in April is colourful. There are many sites within this castle premise: a great backdrop for wedding shots since you have everything. Toilet on site. Museum with artefacts and very informative boards available.

The sites was definitely worth a visit. Byblos is the world oldest town that was continually inhabited. The earliest occupation of Byblos goes back to the 5th millennium BC. It is also the birthplace of the modern alphabet. The Crusader Castle was built in the 12th century. The blocks that makes up the structure, pillaged from the Roman ruins, are... More
