This place of pilgrimage should not be missed. In summer, the heat and the beauty of the surroundings awe. In winter, the snow impresses. It is during the cold times of the year that the spirituality, humility, and dedication of Saint Charbel are most visible. This is a must-see place whether you are religious or not. And the views of the Lebanese mountains always provoke pleasure.

It is an amazing place to visit thanks to its miraculous atmosphere. It is definitely easier to understand if you are a believer yourself, though it is not a condition. Although it is Monastery of Saint Maron it is well known because of Saint Charbel's presence. In many countries it is less-known Saint but in Lebanon it is a very famous figure. He is known from many miracles and that is why you may meet here many pilgrims. I definitely recommend visiting the complex - you can visit the church, Saint Charbel's tomb, a museum. The sanctuary has a nice mountain location so you can admire great views if the weather is good.

This large monastery complex has a pretty church and great some nice views of the Qadisha Valley. It is quiet and contemplative. Although nothing in the church is distinguishing, it is a lovely place.

We visited the Monastery by accident, having met fellow visitors who took us there. The site is extremely well taken care of and it is beautifully serene. They’ve done a really good job at blending the religious components (tomb/church) with a mini museum and a gift shop.
There’s no way to explain the energy emanating from Saint Charbel’s tomb without living it yourself. Take time to sit, take it in and experience it all.

The monastery is so well nice to see, the internal spaces are so well managed to accommodate a large group of people.
Hint: do not get back without tasting local food at the near restaurants - usually the quality and prices of food at annaya are good.

Beautiful monastery for quiet contemplation or meditation. Try to go when it's not packed. Avoid the 22 of each month.

The monestary of St. Maron is a simple but beautiful place. Its simple design and architecture adds to its solemnity. A very nice chapel for worshiping. A small area for baptism which we observed. The museum shows the of life of St. Charbel. Very nice place with an exceptional view high up in the mountains.

My husband and I went to the monastery and visited the tomb of Saint Charbel. While there, my husband fell into a deep trance and was filled with a violent energy neither of us can explain. He had to be supported by a few bystanders because he literally lost control of his body.
He’s not overly religious and we had no expectations or requests of the Saint beyond visiting the site. Any explanations?

This is a typical touchy visit : you could have registered this experience in the visits documentation book.
Actually. The tomb has inside the relics of Saint Charbel, a priest who left this word way before he was dead to live a life that no human can tolerate.
The experience you and your husband had is surely a lifetime memorable one.
As of today . Saint Charbel is named the doctor of heaven and has many miracles attributed to him.
