My understanding is that this used to be a stuffy and crowded affair but with the new building it is more comfortable with air-conditioning and is more spacious. Good for buying textiles and dry foodstuffs.

Go straight to third floor, freshly baked bahalu will be waiting. Best. One of the best local snacks you must get when in Alor Setar.

This is the place to get all sort of local delicacies and biscuits like fried dried banana, dodol, kuih bakol that are made on the spot, rojak pastes, etc. There is a lot of textiles in a separate section. Parking is limited.
