Unlike other black-sand beaches, this sand isn't volcanic in nature but rather is streaked black by run-off from a nearby hot spring.

The sand here is no longer black, well you can see a few black patches but it is pretty much just like a normal beach. It does have some nice views but I didn't see anyone swimming. Probably go to Tanjung Rhu Beach if you...More

This place has seen better days, of that there can be no doubt. The souvenir stalls are a bit pathetic while the two restaurants nearby are pretty shoddy affairs with little English and cats that routinely jump on the tables to get your food. However...More

We were taken here by our guide on a day trip around the island, however I don't really think it is worth visiting, it is just a beach with some black sand (which you can buy?) Unless you want to spend hours here sunbathing.

We stopped the car at a parking nearby the entry of the beach, there is nothing s special to see, the beach is full of plastic waste and the area isn't special, yellow sand beach mixed with some black sand spots. 2/5

Also known as Pantai Pasir Hitam, this beach is nowhere near the black sands we imagined, but does have small particles of black rock/ matter on otherwise silver sands. Not particularly wide sand, but backed by the Islands Northern Road, which means good parking, fruit...More

This beach is alway underestimated. Although we cannot go swimming here, but the view and breeze are so breathtaking. There's some stalls where we can buy t-shirts, and have a drink. I also managed to buy some local products of anchovies and belacan.

The Black sand Beach is no longer having so much black sands. There is only a small portion of the beach with black sands. The water was a bit polluted and the beach was dirty. I considered it is not worth visiting. There are factories...More

When we visited, there was hardly anybody there. Good for a few photos, but otherwise nothing much to recommend it. Swimming didn't appeal there, but there were some jet skis if that's your thing.

Went without much expectations and still left with a greater disappointment. If possible, only go to this place when you have nowhere else to go. It's just a really dirty beach.

A waste of time, it appeared to be a basic beach with a few streaks of black sand, I am not convinced, I suspect it was oil from the factory or the local boats that depart the Langkawi shores every day in their 100's. Don't...More
