- nah110822 contributionsSuch a stunning beachA truly beautiful beach. We were lucky enough to experience it when it was very quiet on a stunning day. The view is gorgeous and the sea is the perfect temperature. There are shops and food places right on the beach which is really useful. Both of isnagreed it was the best beach we've ever seenVisited December 2022Travelled as a coupleWritten January 7, 2023
- koolman3Leeds, United Kingdom1,905 contributionsChanged a lotI remember this beach being really nice and quiet but it looks like modernity has caught up. They have quad bikes operating from the beach. Quad bikes being driven on the beach by untrained tourist - isn’t that dangerous? Plus a quad bike every few mins creating so much noise and fumes. There is a volleyball net on the beach which you can use but other people might get annoyed. On the positive side, there are lots of shops there where you can buy food and drinks or book tours. There is a small group that do foot massage. The beach loungers are expensive but you can haggle with them. If you want to walk down left of the beach you get stopped by a security guard who says that part belongs to a hotel; you can walk along waterline but not too beach.Visited January 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten January 25, 2023
- Heli PHelsinki, Finland6,405 contributionsCleanest waterA new food court has been built on this natural beach, which is so long that you can still find peace and quiet. The water is far from transparent but best on Langkawi to really swim in. Had again a talk with the guard who prevents people from walking on the sand in the direction of the resort, he is safekeeping the faraway property.Visited January 2023Written February 5, 2023
- Margriet RSalt Spring Island, Canada201 contributionsBest BeachAll I can do is hope that Tanjung Rhu beach stays like this and does not turn into a Cenang beach! Please don't build highrise hotels here. Te current local flavor is fabulous. The beach is clean - amazing cleaning crews work it every day. My favorite beach in the world. Even safe, clean swimming.Visited February 2023Written February 27, 2023
- Darlo Globetrotter272 contributionsGreat stayAnother amazing stay at the Tanjung Rhu. We stayed here in the early post-covid days and promised ourselves we'd return. Total bliss and chilled out from start to finish, with the troubles of everyday life drifting away with the tide. The staff here are so friendly, the facilities are great, the local public beach has now opened back up just along the beach. This doesn't detract from the privacy, but does allow you to hop over for some local food or to organise some water sports etc.Visited January 2023Travelled with familyWritten April 2, 2023
- Katherine D15 contributionsSwimmingWent on a windy day and so there was a cooling on-shore breeze. Made for a few waves on the beach and there was an out-going tide with a rip, so not ideal for swimming, Relatively clean, but the neighbouring jetty for the mangrove tours was disgusting, full of rubbish along the shoreline. A massive cleanup is needed, an embarrassment.Visited June 2023Written June 8, 2023

- gringottsgoblin366 contributionsHeavenPerfect in every way. It is an idyll. A crescent of a white sand beach coconut palms and pine trees. Crystal clear turquoise sea with amazing warm water that is shallow enough to wade out into for 200m and a lovely sandy bottom. The view out into the Andaman sea is simply gorgeous and dotted with forested headlands and impossibly beautiful islets and rocky outcrops All this makes this one of the most perfect places. There are little beach huts and some small shacks/shops and simple restaurants set around a rough car park just off the beach but these are not intrusive and somehow appropriate to this slightly charmingly underdeveloped place. Some boat tours do board and deposit passengers on the beach but this adds to the colour and they are in and out very quickly and again they seem appropriate as they are the fast little brightly coloured vessels that are typical of the area. The slightly primitive beach bars serve great chilled juices and coconut shakes and you can also hire decent loungers and shades if you want them. The only downside which is a personal choice is that you can rent quad bikes which are a pet hate of mine on beaches. I went when it was quite quiet and was lucky that it was almost empty of people but if you get lucky this place is Amazing. Nearby is the Tangjung Rhu resort which is beautiful and set right in the heart of this fabulous beach. Definitely want to stay here next time. Imagine stepping out onto that beach every day!!!Visited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten November 5, 2023

This is a quiet and relaxing beach. You can see Thailand from here. There are some shops here but usually opens around 12pm.
The mangrove tour boats stop here as well. This is the best beach in Langkawi so far. Clean and nice. Easy to reach by car or scooter. You can rent the sun-beds for the whole day for 40myr. Nice coffee sold at the bar on the left side.

Long beach, with some shadow, the water is clean and it has a nice view.if you want to rent sun beds, get ready to pay the double than on Cenang Beach (20MRY per sunbed). Few stalls are selling food and drinks, as well as tours in mangroves.

Clean beach, white sand and shadow for the burning sun. Big difference between high and low tide. Very peaceful and almost no people.

Hiring a car is a better option as it is away from the more commercial areas of the island. Getting a Grab or Uber might be difficult.

We are considering staying here in April 15 and would like to know if there is any evening entertainment at the resort. Any lounge/bar with live music?
