- AngusPhuaSingapore, Singapore134 contributionsNice View, Poor VibesBought the 3-attraction package which included the Rainbow Walk, Jurassic and aquarium. The view at The Top is pretty good. Liked the Rainbow Walk which was short but exhilarating. However, everything else was rather poorly maintained. The building was old, aquarium was sad-looking etc. Took a look at the other offerings in the all-inclusive RM98 package but I don’t think it us worth the time or money.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten November 3, 2023
- Shubham P2 contributionsGood views. Skywalk is the highlight. It is good for the views. The activities are okay-ish. The price at which it is being offered is fair. Can easily spend 1-2 hours watching the sun set and the city lights coming on at night. Cafe/restaurant is average.Visited November 2023Travelled soloWritten November 4, 2023
- Christy Lim from SingaporeSingapore, Singapore237 contributionsWorth visit to the Tech DomeThe children went UFO which is great disappointment, go round and round in low speed. More suitable for children under 5 I think. The Tech Dome is more suitable for teens. Will need about an hour in there. Go to pay entrance fee and then when you go in, there’s a few rides that you need to spend money on eg. free fall RM$6. But the children really enjoy it.Visited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten November 18, 2023
- AttitudeAdjusterGillingham, United Kingdom1,123 contributionsIgnore all the other so-called attractions and enjoy the view from the observation deckThe building stands out and is easy to find though once inside the sign-posting is very poor. Eventually I found the entrance to the observation deck, only to be sent on a hike back to a hidden ticket office. Second time lucky and I loved the observation deck, the roof and the skywalk.Visited March 2024Travelled soloWritten April 11, 2024
- Abovetheclouds2,310 contributionsWorth going for the Rainbow Skywalk and Observatory Deck. The TOP Penang as the name suggests is just basically that very high building you can see all around the city. If you go to the TOP, there is an indoor theme park which is good for children. I went to the Rainbow Skywalk and Observatory Deck which was pretty cool with good views. Sunset is a good time. The building itself looks old and worn but worth going to the top. This is the tallest building in Penang.Visited August 2024Travelled soloWritten August 29, 2024
- Ken (haileythegolden)Edmonton, Canada3,437 contributionsGreat Views if PenangWe accidentally ran into tower. The top has everything in terms if activities for families, amusement park, aquarium, wax museum and elevator to the top. We had lunch at the top restaurant, the food was very good. The Dino Gym pointless for parents who just want to sit and watch their kids play no areas to sit unless you have socks on. It’s Malaysia it’s hot, the kids have socks let parents watch with shoes on.
The dinosaur park old and hot, you have to walk outside in the heat.
The building is empty and there are limited food options. If you are a tourist don’t bother. Their are good views of the city from other locations check out some of the other hotels that have rooftop bars. They don’t cost anything to enter and you can enjoy a drink or two for the price you pay at Komtar.
I noticed they have stop entry without a ticket and it’s obvious why. If you took a look at what’s available for kids you wouldn’t bother.
For a better option go to Cocoon at least they provide slides for parents to enter.
To reiterate if you are a tourist I would bother unless you a desperate to let your kids run around.

I was reticent as I’m not great with heights but I’m so glad we did it. It’s 68rm or 48rm if you’re over 60. Take ID. Security is bonkers, checking you every few feet and getting in isn’t as straightforward as it might seem but you’re always pointed in the right direction. The 65th floor is good. Don’t get stung for photos here. If you want official photos, wait until the 68th floor. Although selfies are just as good in my humble opinion. The views are fantastic and if you can overcome any fear of heights you may have, the glass walkway out over the edge is amazing. There’s no time limit on your stay. Enjoy it. The shop sells reasonably priced t-shirts, wraps and batik ties that you can’t get elsewhere. A great experience.

The lower floors of the building was pretty run down with dim lights and foul smelled toilet but The Top exceeded our expectations. The refurbishment of an old building was a great success. We were given a postcard at the ticketing counter to collect stamps from different attractions and send it back to our loved ones. We enjoyed most of the attractions particularly bumper car, durian museum, rainbow skywalk, jurassic research center, aquarium, the dome and the mirror maze. You can easily spend more than half a day here. There were also cultural performance from time to time.

Marvellous view but be aware if you are going to the Restaurant, you have to Buy a Voucher for 65 rm per Person. There are no Vegetarian Options available Except of appetisers. you have to order a Main Course First before you can Order an Appetizer or a Dessert. This is a Kind of Scam in my Opinion.

Very good view from the top of the building, best of all in Penang. Recommended, it will be great to visit around 5 pm, enjoying sunset from the tallest building in Penang. After finish with the view and photographs, then you can enjoy meal time at restaurant.

The TOP is located in downtown Georgetown and offers the opportunity to enjoy several attractions (dinosaurs, aquarium, zombie invasion, etc.) in addition to restaurants and bars.
We opted for the observatory and the "rainbow walk" located on the 68th floor of the tower, for RM68 per person. There is also a glass part before going up to 68th from where you see part of the city. The observatory is located at the top of the tower and it offers a 360° view of the entire city and its surroundings. On a clear day you can see far. We can see in particular the two bridges.
The rainbow walk, or rainbow platform, is a sort of path in the shape of a rainbow, as its name suggests, whose floor is glass, allowing you to fully enjoy the view which is located right next to it. down. We enjoyed the place at night, perhaps it was less impressive than during the day but it was still an extraordinary experience. It is mandatory to remove your shoes to enjoy it.
Once on the glass platform, there is no time limit, you have plenty of time to enjoy and take photos. Keep in mind that in the event of bad weather (rain, wind) it will not be possible to go there. The hostesses down at the cash desk will warn you, rest assured, you won't pay for tickets for nothing.
A bar and a restaurant are located at the top, so you can always take the opportunity to grab a bite to eat and sit on one of the many benches there to enjoy the view. Nice soundscape in a pretty setting (rainbow fountain)
Allow at least an hour to take your time! It will also depend on how many photos you plan to take once on the glass walkway!

Very disappointing visit. Very poor information to get to the lift with endless escalators and poor directions winding through stores of plastic toys and adventure places. Possibly a better experience for families.
The view at top was good to get your bearings of the coast and Georgetown.
There were lots of guides organising us behind barriers to wait for a lift which seemed excessive for 2 or 4 people but may be needed with crowds.
There is also an opportunity to hang off ropes outside and take selfies and on the upper floor 68 a short horseshoe walkway with a glass floor can be used for the selfie addict!
Wish we hadn’t spent the time there!

All is great except the work station at Skywalk too busy at her mobile phone and the shoe cover is recycle however never sanitized. We are not comfortable to wear it as saw other removed from their shoe and put back the bin for other to use. As this period of Coronavirus and one of the virus spread from floor/shoe.
Suggest to provide a shoe and foot sanitizer before wearing the cover. Otherwise, do impose the cost during purchase of the entrance fee.

You won't be able to just climb to the top floor. The minimum ticket includes visits to several more places: Aquarium, Jurassic Park, TOP Penang Avenue of Adventure. The ticket is not too expensive. Compared to similar places in Europe and the USA, it’s simply cheap. I definitely recommend visiting here. At the very top, you will first walk through a completely glass-enclosed floor with a panoramic view. Those who wish can use the external passage along the bridge behind the windows. With special equipment, of course. And then go out to the upper, open floor. Under the skies. There's definitely no ceiling here. And the glass sides are not so high. You can photograph the city above the glass. There are not very many people at sunset, and it is precisely before sunset that I recommend you come here. The landscapes are amazing. Then sunset and the slow gradual turning on of the illumination and lanterns in the city. Amazingly beautiful! Stay until the sky completely darkens. There is a restaurant on the floor, where you can have a snack.

Had a disappointing and terrible experience, went to rainbow skywalk but not even 5 minutes it started to rain, had to go down to 65th floor to wait for the rain to stop, there wasnt even any activity or entertainment there to pass the time, the movie theater was apparently under maintenance, there was lack of staff and you cant even leave and re-enter later when the rain stops. Literally waited there doing nothing for 1 hour and ended up leaving with nothing but that 5 minutes of experience. Didnt even get to walk on the skywalk. What a joke. Highly do not recommend to waste your money or time here.
