My husband and I went on the 3D/ 2N river tour with Mr Aji. Everything was perfect from the pick up to the drop off at the end of the 3 days. It was such a breathtaking experience being in the middle of the river, and Mr Aji's extensive knowledge and experience was amazing. He was able to spot wildlife... More

2 parts to my review ... a. Mr Aji's Expedition Glad I found out about Mr Aji in TripAdvisor and I highly recommend taking a 3D2N (even more days!) trip with him. He's passionate about conservation in the Kinabatangan area and he really knows his fauna! Same goes to his friend who took us on the short trek to the... More

We went on a one day tour to the river for a twilight cruise and had a rewarding day...while we missed out on seeing the much prized Pygmy Elephant and crocodiles we saw evident of them. But we did get up close and personal with Long Tail Macaques and Proboscis Monkeys...this is nature in the wild and one has not... More

Our experience exploring the Kinabatangan river during NYE2016 was amazing. We spotted a couple of crocodiles sunbathing in the river banks, hundreds of Proboscis monkeys (which only live in the Borneo island), hornbills, eagles, 40+ elephants eating by the river, and much more. Take a long lens and a GoPro if you can, and pack for wild weather (rain, sun,... More

There are many opportunities to spot animals in their natural habitats. We saw Probus Monkeys, lots of different animals, unfortunately we didn't spot the Orang Utan but other people we spoke to did. It's all down to luck. The river ride itself is pleasant.

cruising along river wonderful! You will see different monkeys and birds to inc eagles,hornbills,kingfishers...and see them close. No sign of orangs but they are around. Sadly their habitat is fragmented by palm oil plantations-before we arrived to pick up boat we spent a whol;e day driving past them.Charities such as World Land Trust are trying to buy land to connect... After a pickup from Sepilok Mr Aji brought us to the Sukua village along the Kinabatangan river where our 3D2N adventure started. Mr Aji definitely made up our expectations. He is friendly, helpful and more important: very knowledgeable about jungle life and competent in spotting wild life and insects. And there was plenty of opportunity to ask questions, since we... We booked trip with Mr Ajie 2 days before, he was replying to our e-mails straight away. His son picked us in Sepilok B&B. We spent 3 amazing days with him. Our aim was to see wild orangutans, he did what he could to show us and he succeeded. We saw mother with a baby and male. It was incredible... More

We had just a bit of time to take the two day, one night Kinabatangan River Cruise. It’s well crafted for a good experience – mid day pickup in Sandakan/Sepilok, evening cruise, dinner, night hike, sleep, morning cruise, breakfast, transfer out to Sukau to catch the public buses to Semporna or Kota Kinabalu or other destinations. We booked through River... More

With Sabah's tropical heat/humidity, Myne Resort offers air-con chalets. What's stunning is that the chalets are located by the river. Tip: Chalets 2, 9 and 10 have less steps to climb. Amongst all riverine resorts in this area, Myne Resort is the only one with rambling grounds for guided walks - do ask for it as the butterflies are real... More
