I returned to Kota Kinabalu recently for another weekend of diving with Scuba Junkie. Well organised, decent equipment and professional staff. Diving quality is medium (not world class) but conditions are calm and relaxed - a good place for people to get comfortable with diving....More

I guess that doesn't surprise me. The dive team did say that fishermen will come out in the middle of the night and fish those reefs, or worse. We found a box fish trapped in an old fishing net in one of the reefs and set it free. I think you should book ahead, I didn't even need to put a deposit down for Scuba Junkie. I just reserved my spot via email and showed up the morning of my dives and that worked fine. They do send you an email saying that if you don't pay a deposit you lose your spot but I didn't worry about it and didn't run into any problems. Hope that helps! I'm super jealous you'll be diving Sipadan. Enjoy the diving!
