Simply beautiful

Picturesque mosque and amazing architecture. Not much to do here but take photos, but definitely something worth seeing when in KK.

This was the first mosque we had visited & although had dressed well covered we didn't realise we needed to hire traditional outfits to enter. Outfits can be hired for 5 ringgit from a little kiosk out the front. It was actually a good laugh dressing up. The mosque was interesting, but not total wow. They did allow us to... More

A picturesque location the mosque appears to be floating in water, with the sun shining on the white walls the reflection in the water is magnificent. Having worn shorts, I was required to cover up to enter and came out ringing wet from sweat.....wasn't worth it. The outside was by far the high-lite.

The City Mosque, is beautiful and picturesque on the outside, mostly during the sunset but sometimes they don't allow people in if you are not Islamic, but that's fine because there’s nothing much to see there. Just admire the building and the beautiful lake around it, sometimes looks like the mosque is floating on water. If you are at KK... More

Visited the mosque on a whim, as we only had 2 hours before leaving the city. It is lovely, and it had very respectful, kind notices outside the main door about how one needs to be dressed. We were not covered enough, so decided just to view it from the outside, which didn't take very long. There weren't sidewalks around... More

I enjoyed visiting the city mosque today. We starting walking from the city centre until we found a bus stop. The bus to get was apparently the 5a, however when we got the bus stop, a 6b flashed us and said he was going to the mosque so we hopped on. This is the local bus so is a white/blue... More

When you get away from the central core of Kota Kinabalu, it is not geared for walking. We chose a hot day to walk to the mosque...and followed the waterfront pathway as best we could (part is torn up by construction of new condos/convention centre) and then the pathway disappears. As there were no stoplights nearby, we had to dash... More

This mosque has been built almost over the bay in Kota Kinabalu. Looks good from the ourside and if you wish to go in - not Fridays or at prayer time you can as long as you are suitably dresses ie totally covered and you are respectful. The inside is the same as many other mosques but not nearly so... More
