Make sure you visit around feeding time (we were there around 9am). We were lucky to several orangutans and babies too. It was a privilege to see them in the wild. The setting at Semenggoh is beautiful and the staff are dedicated. You have to...More

Now I understand that not everybody is fortunate enough to have the time to go to both Orangutan sanctuaries in Borneo but as someone who was, I figure I can give people my opinion on which one is best. Semenggoh : seems to have had...More

Not far from Kuching with several feeding areas where orangs usually come. Good viewing and camera opportunities. Not much else to do, 1-2 hours is fine.

Any trip to Kuching would not be complete without a trip to the Semenggoh nature reserve. We only spent a short time here at feeding time, which is the best time to go. At first you get the feeling that a lot of this is...More

Have visited many times and it still great to see how the nature reserve works hard to support the Orang-utans in a natural environment as possible. Whilst this is a nature reserve there is no guarantee to see the animals however we have always managed...More

Nice to see the orangutans in semi-wild life during the feeding hour. If you are lucky you can see more than 7 animals!

These animals are wild so there is no guarantee of seeing them. I was fortunate to see them and waited to the very end where a few more Orangutans showed up.

I couldn't tell you the price of a taxi but the reserve is small (as there is really only one place you can go to see the Orangutans) and a guide is definitely not needed.

Hi, no there are no other attractions. There is a market ( very smelly) on the way back to Kuching. It's only 30 minutes by taxi from the centre of Kuching. Don't book a tour to visit the Orangutans, very expensive and not... More
