The walk has small brass plaques with brief historical accounts of the town. You walk under a canopy of flame of the forest trees that are well kept and beautiful. The river view is charming even if the water is muddy most of the time. The quiet jetties and the colonial buildings on the opposite side of the river (ignore... More

Kuching Waterfront is almost one kilometer long and it stretches along the southern bank of Sarawak River. People often come here to take a stroll after office hour, relax and sit down to see the sunset. So did we! Strolling at sunset is best here. Beautiful water reflections.

At night, there is nothing much to do in Kuching besides eating out and shopping at malls. So this esplanade provides something to do away with boredom especially if you are in the area around the Kuching city centre. Much lightings add to the lively atmosphere.

Nice place to take an evening stroll to view the river by night or by day. Local food places and stalls open up at night and are spread along the esplanade along with a few independent vendors and live music buskers. There are also places that you can embark on a dinner and/or a river cruise during the day and... More

Stop along the way to read the bronze plaques in the pavement summarising the history of Kuching. The story of James Brooke is quite a tale.

The Kuching Waterfront can be reached by crossing Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman from Riverside Majestic Hotel where we stayed. It is a pleasant place to walk in the early morning and late evening. 1. At the west end, the newly renovated India Street can be reached and the Sarawak Textile Museum and a relatively new Plaza Merdeka (Shopping Mall) are... More

Good walk with good view. However, can be tiring especially walking in the hot sun. Remember to slather on your sunscreen and wear your hat or use an umbrella.

This is a nice place to have a walk or morning jog but, there's too many litters around especially in the river. It's saddening to see this. it's really lively at night with a lot of eateries available. Maybe that's lead to the littering of the area.

This place is known as the Waterfront. Soe historical buildings are located here, such as Astana and Fort Margherita. You can also cruise the river by using a traditional boat or a big boat at about 1-1.5 hours. At night, many food sellers are open their shops and you can enjoy your dinner while seeing the river view.
