I was expecting a more in-depth explanation of the reasons behind the use of each indigenous architectural style, the development of different musical instruments, etc. Instead what I saw was a group of different native houses surrounding a lake (admittedly a lovely site) occasionally peopled by hawkers of cakes and other sweets. Most of the "demonstrators" seemed bored. The exceptions... More

It's a good place to spend the day. Very informative on the culture of Borneo. We LOVE the cultural performance! Beautiful local ladies in all the houses. Their costumes are just amazing. There is a souvenir shop and a restaurant here. But we didn't try the food. It's an interesting place.

Very cool living museum. The cultural show that is included in the entrance ticket price is so worth seeing! Each of the houses is also very unique. We took a shuttle/shared van to get here. It leaves several times a day from the Grand Margherita Hotel in Kuching - check with the concierge to reserve seats. The cost for round... More

If your don't have time to visit all the different tribal areas & longhouses, then visit the cultural village as this gives a very good overview of what they are like. Our guide was informative and answered all our questions comprehensively. You have the chance to sample food, try a blow pipe, watch the making of tribal clothes & accessories.

Usually when I see "cultural village", I think tourist trap. But Sarawak Cultural Village is certainly not one. It was a very lovely place! Very clean and well maintained. Very interesting to see traditional houses and the activities going on in there. Like food preparation, making tools, playing games, etc. All at very affordable rates too ... like 1 ringgit... More

We were staying in the Damai Beach resort and this place is a short walk from there. Well worth the visit. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. The houses are amazing and in some you will find locals making trinkets and snacks which you can buy for very small amounts. The show was very good and gives you a... More

There are 7 different houses of the local ethnics, where you get to experience the different cultures. Cultural shows are at 1pm & 4pm.
