We stayed at the south end of the city and you can walk for miles along it, even down to the ruined watchtower near Diabat. Plenty of space even near the city centre.

Enjoyed walking across the beach and seeing the activity, people learning to kite surf etc.Hassled by camel/ horse guys wanting to sell us rides but learnt to deal with them . Lucky not to be too windy on our trip

A very worthwhile visit. The beach has golden sandy beach, blue sea and nice waves for keen surfers. A very clean and well maintained beach with long marble benches.

And by cover up, I mean get yourself slathered in factor 50 & wear a light hoody/head scarf/long sleeve as it can get cold as you walk along, even in 30 degree heat. The wind can be relentless at times & you won't notice you're...More

We spent little time actually on the beach because it was a bit windy, but we did walk along it one day from our riad into the medina. Seeing the camels along with the kite surfers was very special.

If you want beach activities look no further camel/ horse rides, surfing, kite surfing, quad bikes, walking, running miles of uncrowded sandy beach. Walking towards Diabat on the beach you will notice the change in scenery as there are more dunes and an interesting forest...More

We only stopped here for lunch but wish our tour group had stayed here rather than the Riad Mimouna. The area was much cleaner and breathtaking that the medina. We had lunch at a quaint seafood restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

The beach of Essaouira is indeed not for sunbathing, but if you are up for some kitesurfing, you have comed to the spot. The locals use it for family excursions and sundowners.
