Good guide!

This small fort is very well equipped with furniture etc. Local guide took time for us and showed us around with very interesting explanation. Worth visiting!

Its a small fort but well maintained and kept in. It was so nice to visit and all the place inside the fort have explainatory notes and very easy to understand.

With excellent explanatory boards and free to enter. We were looking round the (interesting) fish market and spotted it was open. Well worth a trip.

Barka was written up as a sea-side town. So is Grimsby but I wouldn't go out of my way. Apart from the fort it's a grubby little town. The fort is well restored, free to enter and well explained but in a country littered with forts it's probably the least inspiring one you'll see.

A fully restored and refurbished country house that provided a fully secure area for the Imam and his family at the time. The tour provides good information on how the family lived and how the building was secured, secret exits, boiling oil use, separate jails for men and women and plenty of time to understand the living conditions of the... Barka castle is a major landmark on the Batinah Coast, It is located only a few hundred meters from the shore of the Gulf of Oman.The castle is free to enter and there is no charge for taking photographs too.Lots of information boards both in English and Arabic are available inside castle which gives you almost all the necessary information.IT... This place is closed and you can click a few pictures from outside. After looking a lot on the internet for information about this place, I found some, but couldnt find my way to the place on my last trip to Barka.
