This is well worth a stop for half an hour or so. Just walk along the paths in the park with the water trickling beside. Little fish dart in the clear waters.

It was early afternoon when we visited and children were enjoying swimming and splashing around in the rill. Some people were catching fish too.

The distance the water has travelled from the mountains, it’s clarity and the man-made rill makes this a fascinating feat of engineering.

Stopped off to break up a long journey. Brought a picnic and added a few bits from the cafe (not sure what the opening hours were, but open on a Friday lunchtime which isn't always a given in Oman!) Nice play area, quite new and clean. Falaj looked lovely, I assume it generally has less water in as it has rained a lot recently. Only downside was the toilets which were pretty grim and had no running water to wash hands in.

The Falaj irrigation system is inherent to Omani culture. You will see the small canals in most old places, such as Birkat or Misfah. Falaj Al Khatmai is amongst the most famous, to the point that it is UNESCO listed. Still popularly used by the locals for bathing.

It's a NO during hot season.Sounds refreshing to see water supply, irrigation system but comparably there are great places to visit .Factually,it is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2006

The ideal time to visit is the winter season.Average time to visit is 10 minutes. It's a short educational tour only.

The Falaj Daris is one of the many falajs in Oman, that are collectively a UNSECO world heritage site under the title "Aflaj Irrigation system".

The current situation is that there is a small plaque near the Falaj to acknowledge that it is a world heritage site. But the Falaj itself is ensconced in the middle of a busy park. A lot of people swim in the cool waters of the Falaj.

The Falaj is not spectacular or impressive visually. Just the fact that these irrigation channels were built almost 1500 years back and are still functional is the significance and historical value of these Falajs.

Pretty and serene. Not much to say except you can chill here for some time take a breather. Enjoy the greenery. The mountains views were nice too. Pretty birds and a relaxing time with family or some alone time.

Lots of signposts to this but rather disappointing when we got there. The small park is pleasant enough but the actual Falaj is just an underground stream with a small bathing pool area. We wandered downstream a bit but were put off by open manholes with no protection. Yes, the Falaj is 2000 years old but not much to look at in reality

Falaj Daris Park is a particularly pretty park with beautiful landscaped garden areas perfect for picnicking or a leisurely stroll with family. Parking is readily available. The Falaj - a traditional irrigation canal - runs parallel to the street to define this relatively narrow park. Note, some of the photos posted in this listing are from another location near Nizwa - Falaj Al Khatmeen. This irrigation canal is built into a rocky ledge which runs below Birkat Al Mouz, an abandoned mud brick village. While this makes for an interesting walk along the canal, I would not consider this a park.

The park is in decline, and probably could do with some capital investment, furniture and fittings and the overall experience not really commensurate to UNESCO World Heritage site.
Area is of historical importance, but the park could do with some updating, more shaded areas and more seating, the children's play area equipment needs enhancement.
The highlight of the visit was definitely a cool swim in the falaj.

Please be aware that there are no restaurants in the surrounding area, but a few well stocked supermarkets to grab an ice cream for the kids!
