Very unique location where there is a great climate where you can get away from the hot and humid climate of most places in Panama. The town of Boquete is very quaint with a many expats residing there. Also the only place in the world...More
We drove our rental car from the town at around 1.45am and reached the trailhead by 2.15am mostly on a well-maintained paved road. From there we hiked to the top for 4.5 hours at a steady, relaxed pace. We reached the antennas at the top...More
We climbed Baru volcano via Paso Ancho. It is really hard but it deserved the pain :)
It took 6 hours to arrive to the top (they told us that less than 8 hours is great), and 7hous and 30 minutes to got down.
Couples friend and me we decided to climb the highest Volcano in Panama, we spend the whole night over there until we saw the sunrise the next day... The view is amazing especially when you can see both Ocean Caribbean and Pacific

You cannot drive your car up to the top of the National Park. There is only 1 road up and down and heavy 4x4's jeeps access that road. There are tours where you can book to be able to ride in the jeep to ride up for the early morning sunrise. It is a very intense and very rocky and bumpy ride as there are boulders on the road. It is a great adventure to go and I am glad that I did it. But just be prepared when going as it is very cold up there.
