The bridge is a very impressive structure stretching over the Panama Canal near Colon. We sailed under the bridge as we entered the Canal and we also crossed it from the Qua Clara Visitor Centre, before doubling-back and heading to the port of Colon. For me the style of the bridge is reminiscent of the new Forth Road Bridge in Scotland.

View from either side. Either by heading towards Agua Clara visitor centre or by heading over the bridge towards Fort San Lorenzo but turning left immediately over the bridge and going a few km until there is a clear space to park on your left. Both sides have good view of the locks on zoom photo.
The main photo tripadvisor has posted as the Atlantic bridge is in fact the Puente Centario nearer Panama city.

I had the opportunity to see this bridge from the locks, to drive across it and to sail under it, both in darkness and in the daylight. It is a beautiful structure that’s also impressive. Well worth a detour if you’re nearby.

Most beautiful at night when lit with the uplighting. This is another awesome piece of engineering in this region.

Beautiful structure connecting the two sides of the Canal, built we were told by a French engineering firm. At night, the bridge looks almost like.a sculpture and stands out from the surroundings.

We took the opportunity to cross the new bridge after a visit to the Aqua Clara Locks. Just driving across you get a good view of the entrance channels to the old and new locks. Worth the (no traffic) trip.

The bridge overlooking the locks. Part of the Gatun lakes. The lake water is precious because it allows the locks to do there job.

We visited Colon just to go through the Bridge, and were overwhelmed with the beauty of this bridge. Recommend anyone visiting Colon to go through it. I think in the future it will open the other side of the bridge to tourism. Right now there is not much on the other side.

We cruised under the bridge on our Holland America ship. It is tall and beautiful. We got some interesting pictures from under the bridge.

The construction is beautiful. The perspective from the cruise ship is unique. Another bridge of the canal mirrors the design.
