We arrived by small boat with a private guide. There is a fair walk up the hills and around the island. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the island history and inhabitants. It was very relaxing and peaceful. We were introduced to the island head man and they were very friendly. We had lunch at a private house at the... More

Our boat docked on one side of the island and we walked UP to the main square, explored here a bit, had a great lunch, and then walked down to the other side of the island past gardens and magnificent views over the lake.

I loved Taquille Island. It is peaceful, scenic and genuine. I toured the Island with Edgar Adventures and we loved walking over the rolling hills, buying local crafts and learning about local traditions.

Our boat party stopped at Taquile Island for lunch. We had a gorgeous walk up to the square. We were told it was a 60minute hike, in reality it was more like 20minutes. It was the perfect place to spend Mother's Day with my mum in Peru.

Our tour boat stopped at Taquile Island. The island itself has a beautiful beach in a protected cove. After a short walk you come to a plaza where you can see a demonstration of traditional crafts. This is a bit different from other markets because many of the products are knit by men (not women). The prices are quite reasonable... More

The visit to Taquile island was the most important hike we did with my family. It was difficult just to walk however the organization and beauty of the place was enough to make us happy. I strongly recommend visiting this island, specially for its food, culture and people.

When we booked the tour, we did not know much about Taquile... what a surprize! This little gem is the home of people, who keep their traditions high above all! To visit this island is a special cultural experience! To learn about their habits, to eat their self produced food, to enjoy the tranquility and beauty of their island is... More

We had a short stop on Taquile Island on our way to Saudi Island. Great chance to learn about some of the islands traditions, beliefs & crafts. Enjoy the interactive local music and dance, audience participation is a must. Chance to purchase beautifully made knitted hats, woven belts etc. Enjoyable and entertaining.
