What a place!!! Another very special place near Titikaka lake.... with so many legends and stories it can not be just a coincidence. We were by ourselves with no one else and we enjoyed the solitude. Being on other side of planet so far away from home I had a feeling my home is near and I felt very calm, peaceful and balanced...

We did a 45 minute walk to this site and it is in a unique landscape that looks otherworldly. Very interesting megalithic site.

Excellent visit to the Sacred Portal. Very informative. Incredible experience! We were picked up on time by tour guide and both, driver and tour guide were very courteous, knowledgeable and willing to go out of their way to make us feel at ease.

You can really feel the energy that is there, not sure what it is but is really interesting to be there, you have to try, the other good thing is that most of the time is just a few people around

If you get the chance please go here. I was a bit skeptical at first but you really can feel the energy coming from there, and there is really nice rock formations near it as well.

There is more to this site than just the doorway or portal. There is a short trail up and around the interesting rock formations. Some of the areas are very high and thin to walk on. It was worth the drive out here to see what it is all about. The day we went also happened to be the same day a ton of school kids were on a field trip. They were very interested in the tall white people walking around and kept asking for photos with us. It didn't take long for the kids to move on and we almost had the place to ourselves. A small group of people showed up with a local shaman. We also used Humberto (mentioned in other reviews here) and had a very good experience with him. We highly recommend him. He is one of the safest and laid back drivers we had in Peru. He also knew some great places to grab lunch. We used him for two days of site tours. Humberto replies to his Whatsapp number or you can find him at "Travel Humbert" on FB.

Just recently I visited the place. To my surprise, people started to make their plot digging up the soil for cultivation just next to the gate. Just wonder why the authority don’t control this kind of invasion next to the very ancient sacred site.
It is not as good a place as it was a few years back. However, the place is very quiet and almost no tourist. Try to imagine the past how this place was used. If you are brave enough, put your forehead to the eyes of the gate to feel some supernatural power....

Well worth the time to stop by and see this beautifully carved portal to another world! We happened to be visiting when a shaman came to perform a ceremony for a group of visitors---it was fascinating and deeply affecting. The landscape is stunning and history and importance of this site are very resonant.

There are legends of Aramu Muru being a gate to a different dimension. As far as I understood, it is mostly a Western creation, however this place seems to have been special for the local indigenous people for centuries, too. In this case the proximity to the Island of the Sun and the Inca origin myth is of great importance.
To be honest, I didn't feel anything special about this stone. It was just a stop on the way to the Bolivian border. However, the hilly landscape is very nice. I liked the animals (donkeys and alpacas) and rock formations. Not many other visitors. A nice quick stop if you are in the area.
