I've been here several times. There is a minor fee to view displays. Parking is available at no cost on a lot behind the museum or on the street. I think there are meters on the street. They always have something interesting to see, most works are contemporary and range from paintings, textiles and sculptures. There is a small gift... More

The Schweinfurth is a small museum that has very unique exhibits. They seem to have made textiles a focus and the current exhibit was of textiles. Each year they have quilt shows and a wonderful school exhibit. Worth a stop.

Small museum with a high admission price, but always interesting. Exhibits are on one level. They are usually innovative art &/or sculpture - with a theme. Creative artists use a variety of materials which non-creative folks, like me, find totally fascinating. If you like unusual art pieces this is a great place to go.

Attended the opening of the Made IN New York Exibit. What amazing art and sculptures. Incredible talent displayed. If you haven't stopped in yet, you are missing something spectacular.

The main exhibit in our visit was a collection of works using manufactured objects: cables, hoses; lamps; strainers, and similar hardware and housewares, imaginatively arranged into large wall sculptures. A second exhibit was based on colored pencils held together with wires, in the form of three-dimensional sculptures. These, and other works, were clearly labors of love. We thoroughly enjoyed our... I'm glad I got to see the Industrial Nature and Material Remix exhibits at this art center. Most unusual pieces. The Industrial Nature pieces are huge, and the exhibit space was perfect for them. The Material Remix pieces fit nicely in the side galleries. I like to see art that stretches my imagination, and the Industrial ones with their big... More

The Schweinfurth promotes local talent in a big way by displaying artwork in the gallery and offering a wide variety of classes. They have an art camp every summer for local kids. There's also a gift shop featuring creations by students as well as typical gift shop stuff. Worth a stop. No admission but a free will offering is requested.

Partly my fault - I thought it was a museum with a quilt exhibit - not simply a quilt exhibit with nothing else. So spending $18 for three adults and a child to look at some mediocre textiles, with a few superior ones mixed in, was a disappointment. I have seen much better quilts in the homes of friends and...
