Family of 4, total bill of 8k pesos which is approx. $150us. Not worth it at all.

We ordered crab. They asked us which one, we told them one big crab. Instead they gave us 2 crabs. It was already on our table so we didn’t argue. We also ordered sweet and sour fish, shell soup and squid. The price on their menu is actually just for cooking fee. We were not aware of that nor was it said anywhere else. Imagine, we paid approx 1900pesos just for cooking fee. That’s $38us. Market price for their seafood was 6k pesos. That’s approx. $110us. If the food tasted extra ordinary then yes, we wouldn’t mind paying that much. However, it was just a simple seafood cooking. Albeit it is fresh. Still not worth it for us. For the price we paid here for 4 people, we could have gone to a luxury hotel buffet for 2k per person.

We were really caught by surprised and unprepared for this experience. The hype of this place is truly not for us. We are a foodie family who will pay good money for worthy food experience. This definitely is not one of them.

I wondered how many people were misled by their menu prices. Or maybe we just weren’t aware nor educated on their style as it is after all our first time. This will also be our last.

No need to go eat sea food there. You can eat at good seafood restaurant in Manila. No enjoy or good food there. Only take advantage from tourists by Jack up the price.

I was excited to go here and went during the day. Yes, there are live seafood here.
But to my amazement, entire wet market is filthy and reeks of garbage and rotting seafood. I couldn’t get past the presence of filth and bad stench, and I quickly left. Are there food safety and sanitation inspectors in this place? How does this tourist stop get away with this dump?

I don't know why anyone would recommend Dampa. It's so 90's! Gone are the days when Dampa used to be a place where it's ideal to hold a family or friends gathering. I was invited by a friend to go to Dampa recently, and we were all surprised that the bill was so high! It's not relative to the amount of food that we ordered, that was just enough for everyone who joined us for lunch.

What makes Dampa very expensive is, aside from the money you'll spend on the seafood, you have to pay for the ingredients, then pay for the "cooking fee", then pay the people who will buy your seafood, should you choose to ask them to buy for you instead. If you sum it all up, the cost per dish is twice or thrice the price of a normal to-share plate in a decent restaurant.

Of, by the way, please don't be fooled by their "King Crabs".

Please do yourselves a favor and just go to a decent restaurant that serves seafood. Anywhere but Dampa. You've been warned. If you still want to eat where the place smells like the sewer, or where there's cockroaches and flies everywhere, then go ahead and eat at Dampa. Oh one more, if you're only going to bring a credit card, please ask the restaurant first and don't assume they will accept card. Most of the time, they only allow cash.

We were so much looking forward to have dinner at Dampa, however, it was quite disappointing experience.
Two sea food sellers kept telling us dont buy live lobster if we did not want to eat it as Sashimi as it is very expensive, just buy the frozen ones. So, we bought one for 2500P and other big king prawns etc.
It turned out that lobster was a bit smelly and the restaurant that cooked for us did not even tell us, otherwise we would have gone back to change it as it was only across the road (i guess they work together).
It was super over deep fried to the point that it did not taste like lobster at all (to kill the bad smell, i guess).
Fresh fruits there were also more expensive than in airconed supermarkets! I think it is just a tourist trap!

if you want to be robbed by your hard earned money try experiencing this place. the old lady owner is also rude when I asked for the official receipt. She even shouted at me when I asked for the receipt to be itemized. this is not the first time that I went to seaside dampa to enjoy eating seafoods with my family and friends but this time I was so disappointed because of the poor service and rude owner. I won’t recommend this Aling Keng Restaurant and will never go back to this place. Tips: Do not go directly to the restaurants. Buy first at the seaside market to haggle for the price of the seafood that you intend to buy. restaurants will charge you the full price of 1 kilo even if you bought half the kilo. Go to restaurants near the market. do not go to the other side of the dampa as it is more pricey than those beside the market. do not follow those persons who invite you to go to their resto and entice you by saying that they have available parking space. there are a lot of parking space in the area.

My family didn’t plan to eat in Aling Keng Restaurant in the first place but we had no choice since most of the “paluto” restaurants were full. While entering, there was only one waiter who looked unsanitary, like he came out of the restroom to serve us without even cleaning himself first.

Regarding the food, we had spareribs first - we said that it’s supposed to be salt and pepper spareribs, they just cooked it in butter and green chili instead. Then our remaining food - crab sotanghon, shrimp tempura and salt and pepper squid - didn’t taste good. The crab sotanghon tasted bland, tempura and squid were not crunchy enough and lacked seasoning.

Overall, this is one paluto restaurant that me and my family will NEVER go back even if they’re in business for 12 years. No wonder their place is almost always empty since they serve below average quality food.

This place is highly over priced. Overpriced as in like “scam-level” overprice. heed other people’s warning about this place. spent more than 11,000 pesos to feed shrimps, fish, squid and 1 piece of crab for my family and friends. 7 adults and 3 kids (see pic). you are much better off eating at vikings. Avoid this place. This place will die a natural death. Their place is not the cleanest in the area. Service is worse. food tastes fine though. But save yourself the heartache. Go to any expensive buffet, never to this place Aling Keng.
